Taiwanese SoC maker, Mediatek has announced Mediatek Dimesnity 9000+ chipset. This is the upgraded version of the already existing Dimensity 9000 chipset. The company has been immensely popular for powering a plethora of Android devices in recent years. In this article, let’s know what Mediatek Dimensity 9000 Plus has to offer.
Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ Display Support
The newly announced 5G silicon is basically the same as its predecessor, Dimensity 9000. But it does offer some other improvements. Now it supports a 144Hz refresh rate for WQHD+ panels and extends the capacity to a whopping 180Hz for Full HD+ display. Looks like, higher refresh rate displays like 144Hz and 180Hz are going to be a norm in the upcoming time.

Build & Features
The chipset is manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process. The company claims over a 5% boost in CPU and 10% in GPU performance over its predecessor. Talking about the build configuration, it is rocking ARM V9 CPU architecture. It has one ultra-Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.2GHz, three super Cortex-A710 cores, and four efficiency Cortex-A510 cores. For handling games and graphics, there is ARM Mali-G710 MAC10 GPU.
The new silicon is also upgrading ISP (Image Signal Processor), a key component for photography. The improved Imagiq 790 ISP is capable of 18-bit HDR video recording from triple cameras at the same time. Further, it supports up to 320MP cameras alongside 4K HDR recording and AI noise reduction.
Connectivity
Mediatek Dimesnity 9000 Plus now supports up to 7Gbps download speed, thus indicating an updated network modem. It also supports 3CC Carrier Aggregation (300MHz) and 5G/4G Dual SIM Dual Active. The dual-active mode lets users use both 4G and 5G networks at the same time. Likewise, there is the support of Bluetooth 5.3, and WiFi 6SE too.

The chip is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2022. So likely, the debut on the phones could happen by the fourth quarter of 2022. There is no visible difference between Dimensity 9000 and Dimensity 9000 plus processors, except for the higher clocked prime core on the successor. Still, the real-life performance should be better. Also, Mediatek has been the top SoC maker this year, beating its counterpart, Qualcomm.
