Mi Band 5 is the successor to the popular Mi Band 4 (best selling smart brand in the world) that was launched a year back. It arrives with major upgrades and impressive features.
Massive Display
The design of Mi Band 5 is similar to that of its predecessor, it retains the pill-shaped design of the Mi Band 4. But it arrives with a massive display than last year’s Mi Band 4. It comes with a large 1.1-inch AMOLED dynamic color display with a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels and it supports 100% of the P3 color gamut. Mi Band 5 gets five levels of brightness adjustment, with the brightness of up to 450 nits compared to 400 nits on its predecessor.

Consumers will also be getting over 100 new watch faces that are based on characters from popular animated series like Neon Genesis Evangelion (EVA), Hatsune Miku, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Case Closed. The band also has water-resistance up to up to 50 meters/5ATM & comes with a 2.5D glass on top of the screen for its protection.

Mi Band 5 comes with several sport modes, it comes with a total of 11 sport modes. It comes with 5 new sport modes compared to its predecessor. The 11 tracking modes include Outdoor Running, Treadmill, Cycling, Walking, Freestyle, Pool swimming, Jump rope (New), Elliptical (New), Rowing machine (New), Indoor cycling (New), and yoga (New).
Upgraded Health Tracking
Mi Band 5 arrives with many updated health-tracking features that were lacking on its predecessor Mi Band 4. It arrives with a new 24/7 sleeping monitoring. It has received a major upgrade, so now you will be able to view your REM(Rapid eye movements) sleep cycles and sporadic naps in the Mi Fit app. The accuracy also has increased by 40 percent. The band comes with a 25-hour heart rate monitoring & claims that it arrives with the increase in accuracy of irregular heart rate monitoring by up to 50%.
Women’s Health
It brings a new feature dedicated to women’s health. It includes features such as menstruation tracking, ovulation period, etc. For the first time, users will be able to calculate their PAI(Personal Activity Intelligence). If you’ll give you a PAI score of 1-100 based on your daily activity and heart rate.

Magnetic Charging & other Feature
Mi Band 5 has introduced a new charging process magnetic charging which is a big upgrade over its predecessor. Now you will be able to charge the band just by attaching the magnetic charge at the back of the band. It comes with a 125mAH battery which is less than MI Band 4’s 135mAh battery. The brand claims that it has a battery backup of 14 days on a single charge.
It also features a remote camera shutter that helps you to snap beautiful selfies and group pictures just with the touch of a button.

Mi band 5 is available in two different variants: NFC and non-NFC. The NFC variant is priced at 229 Yuan & the non-NFC variant is priced at 189 Yuan respectively in China. They are already available for sale in China. The global variant is dubbed as Mi Smart Band 5 and arrives without NFC, SpO2 tracking, etc. It is priced at 39.9 Euros globally.
The Mi Band 5 is priced at Rs. 4,499 in Nepal and will be available for purchase across all official Mi stores and Online platforms very soon in Nepal. Sadly the band launched in Nepal, won’t come with NFC support and SpO2 tracking feature. The brand could have come with more aggressive pricing nevertheless it is a great value of money that comes with many exciting features.
