Motorola is again coming to Nepal, after the strategic partnership with the country’s prominent business house Chaudhary Group (CG). CG Mobile is making moves to grasp the mobile market, after obtaining the distributor of the Motorola smartphones. The brand has already rebounded in the global market and aims the same in the Nepalese market. The American technology company, which is also a subsidiary of Lenovo will soon announce its upcoming devices in Nepal, targeting the upcoming festival season 2081.
While Motorola phones approach their exciting arrival in Nepal, CG Mobile and Motorola will mostly operate from India. Anyway, the US-based company’s phones are almost not as popular as Samsung, iPhones, and Xiaomi/Redmi phones in Nepal but that’s due to the lack of a major local partner. This is set to change. Marked for their stylish design and refreshing feel, users will be delighted that these phones are officially making a comeback in Nepal once again.
CG partnership a second coming for Motorola in Nepal
With their partnership, CG Mobile has become Nepal’s distributor for Motorola phones since August 2024. The business house aims to revive Motorola’s smartphone business in Nepal with this move. It’s worth mentioning that CG has also partnered with UK-based phone maker Nothing Technologies. This cooperation has already brought a series of Nothing phones in Nepal including the latest CMF Phone 1.
Motorola has different ranges of smartphones from entry-level to flagship ones. So, we can expect products in all of these price ranges to arrive soon in Nepal. So far, it’s said that a total of 8 Motorola phones will be launched in Nepal in the first phase. It’s likely that these phones will make their bow in the country around the upcoming Dashain festival which is about two months away from now.
Motorola phones’ price ranges from INR 7000 to INR 100,000 in India. The list includes the midrange G series, premium edge series, to Flagship Razr series. These phones are known for their unique design and also boast most of the modern technologies for a decent smartphone.
Similarly, it has several alluring features even in its entry-level phones. The punch hole cut out in the display is also one of the noticeable features in the phone.
A need to make Motorola phones 4G compatible
As Motorola will bring phones from India to Nepal, they need to work in advance to make the phones compatible with Nepali mobile carriers. As the 4G frequency bands and several network features are different in Nepal than in India, they have to make sure the Motorola phones work without any glitches in the Ntc and Ncell mobile network. After all, the phones are made for using the mobile network for calling and data. Check out: How to Check 4G and 5G Band Support on Your phone?
Furthermore, to make the phones more interesting, Motorola will definitely come up with some after-sales service as a warranty. So, they will definitely open up a Service Center for this. These benefits will definitely lead them to more credibility and bring more sales. To stand firm on the Smartphone battlefield of Nepal, Motorola will have to provide those services, as people prefer.

Our thoughts
It is really pleasing that Motorola phones are coming back to Nepal. We expect more of the decent entry-level and midrange phones that exactly suit the Nepalese market. But there are some people who expect flagship phones including the Razr foldable phone.
The Budget Mid-range market is the mass-selling product in Nepal and Motorola will try to get more share out of it. So, to see if Motorola’s comeback challenges other smartphone vendors in this mid-range segment, we have to wait a bit to find out later.
