Nepal Telecom (NTC) undertook several steps to enhance internet service at the Gadhimai fair. Considering hundreds and thousands of visitors at the grand fair in Gadhimai Municipality – 1, Bara district, the state-backed telecom company installed 21 small cell BTS (Base Stations) and upgraded existing BTS to provide optimum mobile data services.

The popular Gadhimai fair is organized every 5 years. This year, it was organized between December 02 – 15 (Mangsir 17 – 30). During the fair, the crowds reach extreme volume and the existing telco infrastructures struggle to maintain cellular service. To address this, the company improved existing BTS towers while installing 21 units of small cells. Additionally, the company set up various mobile BTS to ensure everyone was served to the fullest.

Small cells serve as telco gears to provide additional sources for connectivity. They are extremely handy when traditional infrastructure can’t maintain the service flow due to high demands for network coverage from large crowds.

Ntc installed small cells to ensure optimum 4G service in the Gadhimai fair

Thanks to small cells and BTS upgrade works at Gadhimai temple premises, Ntc ensured efficient mobile data services, especially 4G and voice. This helped devotees get high-speed broadband as well as reliable voice service across 14 days. The company had already made preparations for BTS and small cell works before the ceremony started on December 02.

Ntc optimized its cellular service at Gadhimai considering the huge crowds during the fair. So, it’s good to know that the company acknowledges the significance of connectivity and also steps up efforts during such demanding times.

Similarly, the company is also providing high-speed FTTH and 4G at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur for organizers and spectators. As a government enterprise, the company consistently makes value-differentiation efforts to serve the users based on their needs.

If you made it to the Gadhimai fair, then you must have benefitted from Ntc’s dedicated service in 4G data and voice. Do share if you witnessed the experience first-hand in our comment section below.
