Leading telco Nepal Telecom has started its FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) internet service also called “NT Fiber” in Jumla and Kalikot on Jestha 10 and 11 respectively. This now brings telephone, internet, and IPTV service in the two remote districts in Karnali province.
Ntc provincial directorate Surkhet, Karnali Province Director Milan Shrestha inaugurated the service after distributing CPE equipment to the customers in both districts.
With NT Fiber, customers will get HD quality voice service, high-speed internet, and NT TV service through a single fiber cable. Already, the company has launched its FTTH service in Surkhet, Salyan, Dailekh, Jajarkot, and West Rukum.
Ntc’s fiber net service combines four different services into one. It includes internet, TV, telephone, and mobile data. The company calls it a “3 Plus 1” service. Do read: Ntc brings free mobile data on Fiber subscription
Currently available with data only in the Spring Offer, the FTTH package costs Rs 8,000 annually. Likewise, with TV, the package costs Rs 12,000 which bundles 20 Mbps internet, 3,000 minutes of voice, and NT TV.
Ntc FTTH internet service expanding nationwide
Nepal Telecom has gradually expanded its FTTH internet service throughout the country. In recent years, the telco has focused on aggressive expansion in remote areas too. For regions where NT Fiber is not available, the state-backed company has launched Namaste WiFi with affordable unlimited internet packages.

And while cellular technology remains dominant in Nepal, fiber is still the future for reliable and consistent performance while in the mountainous regions, wireless broadband such as 4G or 5G will continue to remain the best solution. The telco has extended its fiber coverage to over 63 districts while 4G has reached 98% local levels across the country.
