Realme has finally brought a new midrange contender to the market. Dubbed as the Realme 12 Pro+, this new phone bears some flagship features such as a periscope lens and a premium design at a midrange price bracket. Firstly, the Realme 12 Pro Plus 5G adopts a premium design, identical to its predecessor the Realme 11 Pro 5G. As such, the device looks beautiful with a vegan leather finish and a luxury watch-type camera module. Realme has partnered up with popular watchmaker Olliver Saveo to get this sophisticated vibe on this phone. It is available in four color options: Submariner Blue, and Navigator Beige.
Talking of the display, it boasts a curved AMOLED panel stretching diagonally at a 6.7-inch size with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz fast refresh rate. Other attributes here include a 93% screen-to-body ratio, 240Hz of touch sampling rate, 100% of DCI-P3 color gamut, and 0.55mm double-reinforced glass protection.

Camera
The key USP of the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G is its stellar camera setup. It consists of a triple camera setup flaunting a main Sony IMX890 sensor (OIS), a 64MP Omnvision periscope lens, and an 8MP ultrawide unit. The inclusion of a periscope lens in this category is pretty commendable and it can take 3X flagship-like portrait shots. Similarly, you also get 6X in-sensor zoom and up to 120X digital zoom as well. Meanwhile, the selfies are handled by a 32MP snapper placed in the hole-punch cutout.
Performance
Running the things on the core is a 4nm fabbed chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. This 5G chip features 4 cores of Cortex-A78 at 2400 MHz and 4 cores of Cortex-A55 at 1950 MHz. It is basically a rebrand of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G SoC. Handling the graphics part here is an Adreno 710 GPU. For now, only the 12/256GB version is available in Nepal.
Likewise, on the software side, Realme 12 Pro+ 5G boots on Realme UI 5.0 built on top of Android 14. The phone is likely to receive two years of OS and three years of security patch updates.

Our Verdict
The Realme 12 Pro+ 5G seems like a beautiful offering in the midrange segment. Be it its elegant design or the periscope zoom lens, this smartphone is sure to make some headlines. But as Realme Nepal imports its devices from India, the phone doesn’t have Band 20 support, which creates a problem for NTC’s 4G in rural areas and carrier aggregation in city areas as well.
