Mid-range devices are one of the best-selling ones in the smartphone market. Sitting in the mid-segment in terms of price and specs, Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G are good options. Powered by Snapdragon 695, let’s see what sets them apart in our Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G vs OnePLus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G article.
Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G vs OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G Design & Display
Talking about the design, Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G boasts a new boxy flat-edge design language like its Note 11 Series siblings. OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite on the other hand features the typical rounded corner body, resembling much of Realme phones with a similar camera module. Upfront both are housing punch-hole cutouts on the screen. One on the Redmi is center staged while on the OnePlus, it is on the left side. Redmi has better body components with a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5 whilst OnePlus has settled for a plastic back.
For display, both phones offer Full HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. But there is a catch, Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G sports a much better, AMOLED panel. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite features an IPS LCD panel. As known, AMOLED displays are superior to LCDs for color contrast, vividness, and overall picture quality. Also, Redmi has Gorilla Glass 5 for display protection while OnePlus hasn’t mentioned any sort of protection. So, in terms of display quality and protection, Redmi takes a clear edge here.
Performance
Here, both devices have the same Snapdragon 695 5G chipset on board. The 6nm-based silicon has the configuration of 2×2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 660 Silver Cores. Having the same chip, performance should be more or less similar on both phones. But it does rely on the OS/Skin and the amount of optimization done by the brand itself. Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 11. OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G boots on OxygenOS 12.1 built on top of Android 12. Software experience has been known to be better on OxygenOS but the recent ColorOS engine merger has degraded it a bit. Still, the OS is light and retains the charm. Meanwhile, MIUI 13 is a feature-rich skin and has also improved throughout the updates. But still, it is far from being perfect. The choice here also depends on personal preference. OxygenOS 12.1 seems a better skin than MIUI 13 in terms of stability and lightness. Performance-wise, there shouldn’t be a major difference.

Optics
Coming to the optics, both phones are housing a triple camera setup. Redmi has a better setup with a 108MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP Ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. For OnePlus, it is a 64MP primary shooter with an f/1.7 aperture, a 2MP + 2MP macro, and depth lenses. Despite being high-res lenses on both devices, the normal shots are captured at 12MP resolution. So, the outputs shouldn’t be much of a difference in daylighting conditions. But OnePlus might not offer much at the full resolution pictures compared to the 108MP of Redmi.
Also, there is an ultrawide camera with Redmi while OnePlus skipped with a gimmicky 2MP sensor instead. Both have a 16MP selfie camera upfront. And, the macro lenses of both phones should offer a similar type of output. For videos, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite can do max up to 1080p at 30 fps. Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G can do up to 1080p at 60fps max. Hence, the Note 11 Pro 5G wins here with a higher-res primary shooter and an ultrawide camera.
Battery and Charging
Talking about battery capacity, there is a 5000mAh Li-Po cell on both phones. Redmi supports up to 67W fast charging while OnePlus has 33W fast charging support. So, there is no doubt that Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is the clear winner here.
Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G vs OnePlus Nord 2 CE Lite 5G Pricing
Pricing is one of the key factors for a smartphone to sell. Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G retails at Rs. 36,999 for the base 6/128GB variant and Rs. 39,999 for 8/128GB one. OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is launched in just one variant, 8/128GB which sells at Rs. 39,999. So, there is no pricing difference between the two phones but Redmi does provide an extra option with the 6/128GB variant.

Final Verdict, Which One to Buy?
The AMOLED panel of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G beats the LCD panel of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G with a much better multimedia experience. There is Gorilla Glass 5 protection given on Redmi while OnePlus hasn’t spoken about it for the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. Also, the absence of an ultrawide shooter in this price range is a bummer for sure. Even though the usual 12MP shots would be similar, the higher 108MP camera of Redmi does offer more details than the 64MP lens of the OnePlus. Also, it can shoot 60fps videos while the Nord CE 2 Lite 5g cannot.
One thing where OnePlus shines is in its software.,OxygenOS 12.1. It is based on Android 12 and is lighter than MIUI 13. That doesn’t make MIUI 13 any bad as it is feature-packed skin. People preferring stock OS-type skin can opt for OxygenOS though it has changed due to the ColorOS tie-up. While if you want more features and customizations, MIUI 13 can cater to your need.
The Note 11 Pro 5G excels with a 67W fast charging speed as compared to the 33W of its counterpart. Also, the build quality is better on Redmi. While for other features, both share many commonalities such as dual stereo speakers, MicroSD card support, 5G connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, etc. So, it is clear that Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G stands out as the winner here with a superior display, camera setup, build quality, and fast charging.
