The launched new smartphone lineups are Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Redmi note 9 5G, and the Redmi Note 9 4G. These smartphones arrive with notable upgrades and improvements. Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G Overview
The smartphone is the rebranded version of the Mi 10T Lite, which launched earlier this year. And it obviously arrives with some minor changes and tweaks on it. The smartphone boasts 120Hz Display, SD 750G, 108MP Camera and many more features.
Design/Display
Starting off with the design of the smartphone, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is very similar to that of Redmi K30 Pro and Ultra. It comes with glass build at the front and back as well. The smartphone has a gradient design finish at the rear. The device has a punch-hole cutout that houses the selfie camera at the front. The smartphone also has an IP53 Water-repellent coating. It has a fingerprint sensor mounted at the side of the phone.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G flaunts a large 6.67 inches Full HD+ IPS LCD Display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and HDR10 support. The notable upgrade on the device is the 120Hz refresh rate along with the 240Hz of touch sampling rate. It also has an aspect ratio of 20:9, 84.6% screen-to-body ratio, 395 PPi and the display has the TÜV Rheinland low Blu-ray certification. The smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass Protection on both rear and front panels. The screen has 450 nits (typ) of brightness & goes as low as 1 Nit in night for comfortable viewing experience.
Camera
Now coming to the highlighting feature of the smartphone i.e optical department. Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is the first Redmi Note series smartphone with 108 MP camera. The smartphone sports a quad rear camera setup with a circular camera module on the back. It includes a 108 MP Samsung HM2 main sensor with f/1.75 aperture, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle camera along with f/2.2 aperture & FOV (Field Of View) of 120-degree, a 2 MP macro sensor, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The smartphone is equipped with a 16 MP Selfie camera at the front to capture beautiful and gorgeous selfies.
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G arrives with attractive & impressive camera features such as Super night Scene 2.0, HDR, Document Shooting Mode, ID Card Mode, AI watermark, voice shutter, timed photo, screen fill light, AI scene separation, face recognition, dynamic photo, front beautification, selfie mirror, etc. Now, talking about the videography of the device. The rear cameras are capable of recording videos up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps, and 720p@30fps. On the front it records videos up to 1080p/720p@30fps.
Performance
Under the hood, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is fueled by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G Processor which is the first-ever for a smartphone model in China. It is a significant upgrade over a snapdragon 720G in comparison to previous versions. It is an octa-core processor based on an 8nm process that has two A77 large cores with a frequency of up to 2.2GHz, and six A55 high-efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chipset uses CPU and GPU architecture of the same generation as the Snapdragon 865.
It is attached with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 internal storage option. You can also expand your storage up to 512GB via a dedicated microsd card slot. At the software front, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G runs on MIUI 12 based Android 10 OS.
Further, the smartphone comes with a three-dimensional liquid cooling system that the brand claims can reduce the CPU core temperature by up to 5°C. It comes with the total of 11 temperature sensors which can accurately sense the heat source and intelligently adapt the optimal heat dissipation scheme.
Battery and Others
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G boasts a massive battery of 4,820mAh (typ) ultra-high capacity battery along with the support of standard 33W flash charge. As per Xiaomi’s claims, the phone takes only 58 minutes to charge from zero percent to 100%.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is launched at a starting price of 1599 yuan for the base variant 6GB/128GB in China. The smartphone will be available for purchase starting from December 1st in China. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is expected to be priced around Rs. 30,999 in Nepal for the base variant if it ever launches here. The smartphone will be giving tough competition to other premium mid-range smartphones.

Comparing both of the smartphones, it might be an understatement to say that Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G brings more on to the table in terms of design and specs.
