Design and Display
The Vivo V30 5G comes in a curvy body and it’s made of glass front and back while the frames are plastic. It measures 164.4 x 75.1 x 7.5 mm and weighs a comfortable on hands 186 g. The design largely imitates the Vivo S18. It has a large rectangular camera island with two halves on the back which is raised off the surface. The upper half is dedicated to the cameras while the bottom half has the iconic “Aura Light” that almost gives the feeling of a Nothing Phone in miniature.
To recall, the Aura Light on this phone takes inspiration from the Vivo V29‘s Smart Color Temperature Adjustment. At the bottom right is a Vivo text branding. The device comes in two color options- Lush Green and Noble Black. It gets an IP54 certification meaning it is dust and waterproof. Vivo says that it’s the brand’s slimmest smartphone ever.
The display part equally complements the sleek design. The device comes with an AMOLED 3D curved screen that stretches 6.78 inches with a real state of 89.9%. I mean the screen-to-body ratio. The 1260 x 2800-pixel resolution with 453 ppi density renders the visuals stunningly rich and sharp. It gets a peak brightness of 1200 nits. The glass of the device including its screen has a layer of Schott Alpha for protection. It gets the standard 120 Hz refresh rate which is common among midrange to flagship phones these days.
Performance
The Vivo V30 5G gets its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. It is a powerful 4nm-build silicon with octa-core processors. The chipset has one primary core which clocks at 2.63 GHz. Likewise, the other 3 cores run at 2.4 GHz, and the remaining 4 cores work at 1.8 GHz. The device gets Adreno 720 service for the graphics.
Further about the hardware, the model comes with a humongous 12 GB. To illustrate better, you get the device in 12/256 GB capacity. It’s the only variant available in Nepal. The memory has the UFS 2.2 speed. Do note that there’s no slot for expandable storage. It is a good sign that most of the upper-tier mid-range smartphones are bringing higher RAM and storage features—the device boots on FuntouchOS 14 which is based on Android 14.
Camera
The Vivo V30 5G features a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50 MP wide shooter in the lead with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 50 MP being the ultrawide which is useful for group photos and landscapes. Similarly, the lineup might arrive with a Distance-Sensitive Lighting feature which ensures excellent portrait photos irrespective of the subject’s distance.
As far as the front camera is concerned, it has a 50 MP selfie shooter for photos and videos. Both front and back cameras can record videos at up to 4K@30 fps. Likewise, the cameras come with HDR, ring-LED flash (back camera), and dual LED flash (front camera).
Battery
The Vivo V30 5G comes with a large 5,000mAh battery unit. Vivo has also paired it with an 80W wired fast-charging support. It claims that the battery can charge from 0-100% in 48 minutes. The battery capacity and its fast-charging feature make it a commendable asset especially if you are a gamer or multi-tasker, the battery side of the model will be one of its key USPs.
