Overview of Mi 10 5G
Mi 10 5G flaunts a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2, 340 pixels) 3D curved E3 AMOLED display. The display has an 800 nits brightness, 90 Hz refresh rate which now seems one of the must-have specs for a flagship-level phone. Along with the 19:5:9 aspect ratios it comes with a DotDisplay design for the selfie camera cutout.
It is featured by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, coupled with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The same processor powers two of the popular flagship phones now: Samsung Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8 series.
Alongside, there’s a LiquidCool 2.0 Vapor Chamber along with a six stack graphite layer and grapheme surface area for thermal management as well. Also, Xiaomi Mi 10 5G runs Android 10 with MIUI 11 on the top, which gives you a better smartphone experience. It will soon come with MIUI 12 as well.
Camera
As or the camera, the Mi 10 5G comes with a quad-camera setup that holds a 108-megapixel primary sensor along with a seven-piece (7P) lens and optical image stabilization (OIS) as well. It has an aperture of f/1.69, large enough to capture low light photos. With that, there is a 13-megapixel 123-degree wide-angle lens consisting of an f/2.4 aperture and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras with f/2.4 lenses for depth sensor and macro lens.
Also, for the selfie, it has a 20-megapixel front camera sensor along with the preloaded with AI 2.0 (an artificial intelligence backed software) that is designed to correct exposure, color, brightness, and noise to enhance images routinely.
Moreover, there is a Pro Mode on the camera app with features such as Focus Peaking, Exposure Verification, HEIF Support, Histogram, RAW mode, and LOG Mode as well. The Night mode 2.0 also captures sharp picture in less light conditions.
As for the battery, Xiaomi’s Mi 10 5G comes with a 4,780mAh battery which also supports 30W fast wired and wireless charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging. Despite the huge battery, it maintains sleek design and width.
More to that, some other features include a fingerprint sensor and much more. The connectivity options on the phone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
5G support
Regarding the mobile network, the phone supports 5G connectivity, but it is not big of a deal for India and Nepal since we don’t have a 5G network available yet. But Jio in India is known to be ready for 5G trials with its hardware design. It is interesting to know that Mi 10 phone supports 5G in spectrum band n78 which is the most popular band for 5G now. Other 5G bands on the phone are all Sub 6GHz, namely n1, n3, n7, n28, n77, and n78, which differ on the network availability in some regions.
There is a burning question like Do we really need 5G network now here in Nepal?
Moreover, compared to Mi Note 10, which has Android 9.0 and Qualcomm SDM730 Snapdragon 730G as a core processor, Mi 10 5G is much better and provides a better smartphone experience.
As compared to other flagship devices like Samsung S20 and One Plus 8, the Mi 10 5G comes with a bigger display and better camera. While the core processor is the same for all the devices, in overall viewpoint S20 stands tall while Mi 10 5G proves to be better than OnePlus 8 in many aspects.
