Xiaomi has finally launched the new Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 tablet in Nepal. It is the first tablet launched by Xiaomi Nepal here. Although the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series lineup consists of Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro, there is no official word for the pro variant launch in Nepal. Design And Display
Starting off with the design, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series arrives with the exact same design. The tablets are pretty similar to that of the Apple iPad Pro. Both the tablets share the same dimension but differ in weight. Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 weighs only 511 grams, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro weighs 515 gm and Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G weighs 518 gm.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro flaunts the same large 11-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 X 1600 pixels, and a high refresh rate of 120Hz. It also comes with a 120Hz touch sampling rate, 275 PPI, Dolby Vision, HDR10 content, up to 500 nits of peak brightness with TrueTone technology, and a contrast ratio of 1500:1.
Cameras
Now, moving on to the camera features of the tablets. Both of them come with different camera setups. Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 flaunts a single rear camera setup that consists of a 13 MP sensor. As for Mi Pad 5 Pro, it rocks a dual-camera setup that includes a 13 MP Primary sensor and a 5 MP depth sensor combination. And lastly the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G variant houses the 50 MP primary camera lens accompanied by a 5 MP depth sensor.
On the front, all of the tablets feature an 8 MP selfie snapper to capture beautiful selfies. As for the videography, both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording videos up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS.
Performance And Memory
Under the hood, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset. Likewise, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro rocks a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. In terms of memory configuration, both Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro are paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM (LPDDR4X on Mi Pad 5) and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. As for Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G, it is available only in a single variant 8GB/256GB memory configuration. Sadly you don’t get an external MicroSD slot to expand your memory.
On the software front, Both the smartphones run on MIUI for Pad based on Android 11.
Battery And Others
Now talking about the battery prowess of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series, both the phones boast a large battery. Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 comes with a massive 8,720mAh battery along with 33W fast charging support. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 packs an 8,600mAh battery under the hood along with the 67W wired fast charging support via the USB-C port at the bottom.

The connectivity features are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, USB Type-C, loudspeakers with stereo speakers, etc. Unfortunately, we don’t get a 3mm audio jack on our tablets.
Similarly, there is a separate variant of Mi pad 5 Pro which supports 5G network.
Other Specs
Xiaomi also packs a stylus pen and keyboard-style double-sided protective case alongside the tablet. The Stylus comes with a two-button: one button supports quick notes and another button supports long-pressing to take screenshots, switch colors, and erase. The Xiaomi stylus weighs only 12.2 grams and has a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The Mi stylus Pen supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt writing, and quick wireless charging. The brand claims that the Pen will work for 8 hours on a single charge.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Price in Nepal is Rs 44,999 for the base variant (6/128GB) whereas the 6GB/256GB variant costs Rs 49,999.
Xiaomi Pad 5 was launched at the starting price of 1,999 Yuan for the base variant and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro was priced at only 2,499 Yuan for the base variant in China. Xiaomi Pad 5 will be available for purchase in authorized Xiaomi stores very soon in Nepal.
Though we expect Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro to be priced around Rs. 49,999 in Nepal, the pro variant will take some time to launch in Nepal.
