Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 plus first review:
The two phones are very easy to hold in the hand. Even though the screen size is large, the whole body size is less compared to before, making it comfortable in your hands and pocket. The larger full (18:9 aspect ratio) screen makes it look very elegant and with such price range, everybody is tempted to buy it. Compared to its own Mi Mix and iPhone 10, it is not a complete full screen phone as bezels are still clearly visible but lesser. Now people habituated with the three capacitive buttons from Xiaomi phones will also love the onscreen buttons due to the better screen looks.
The 14 nm Snapdragon processor also performs well. Normal usage with lots of multitasking is found perfect. The back fingerprint sensor is also fast enough.
Although dual rear camera is the trend now even for medium range phones, this phone has a single camera but a decent one with 1.25 µm pixel size, soft-LED flash, PDAF and facial recognition. The flash in the front camera makes it better position for selfie lovers. The dual firing speakers in the bottom of the phone also makes it look like high end. MIUI 9 on the top over Android Nougat, along with new features like Split screen definitely looks better in this sort of phone. We hope they will add new features for the latest phones. They might be already testing features like AI (object recognition), Retina scanner and more for it.
Here are some of the photos of the phone. The pictures are only from gold color Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 plus phones.
We will post more photos of Redmi 5 and 5 plus in our Facebook page later.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 plus in Nepal ?
When we posted the news about unveiling of Redmi 5 phone, people have started asking when it will release here in Nepal. As the phone is just available now in China, they will gradually release it in other countries. Nepal seems to be early for releasing of such affordable phones, even before the official release in India. Even if the price is lil extra in Nepal, people feel lucky to buy the phones in the local market. For others, they buy it from friends or families in China or India.
Xiaomi official website have not specified Nepal as a region but here they claim to be official. Being a small market and unable to meet the large number, might be the reason.
