Xiaomi has been teasing the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 pro: flagship killer to launch in Nepal soon from last week. Now Xiaomi announces to launch the Redmi K20 Pro in Nepal on August 8th, 2019. As per the rumor, Redmi K20 may also launch on the same day but you never know what may result. Let’s find more of the overview, specs, speculated the price of Redmi K20 Pro in Nepal. (Update launch price below)
Xiaomi has been bringing midrange phones to Nepal market these days (Redmi Y3, Redmi Note 7, 7 Pro ). They recently restocked Poco F1 in Sasto deal which is available for purchase now. It has been a while since Xiaomi launched the flagship phone, until Redmi K20 Pro coming now. This value for money device will definitely be popular for a market like Nepal, but conditions apply. The condition is if only the Redmi k20 Pro comes in a convincing price tag.
Redmi K20 Pro is the high-end version among the latest Redmi K20 Duo. Redmi K20 Pro has got all the specs that are required to make a flagship phone but with a killer price. That’s why the phone Redmi K20 pro is called a flagship Killer. Redmi K20 Pro is powered by the processor that is present in most of the latest flagship phones: the Snapdragon 855 processor. The device has a full-screen display with no notch, as the phone incorporates a motorized pop-up selfie camera.
Overview
Redmi K20 has a 6.39 inch AMOLED FHD+ Full-view screen (aspect ratio: 19.5:9) without any notch. This is the first Redmi phone with an AMOLED display. The screen is very bright with 600 nits and picture reproduces sharp. The phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back. They call the back surface to have an Aura prism finish, with stylish gradient. The gradient is quite different like that of other phones as the edges have phone color with flames towards the black center. The gradient is not quite visible outdoors.
The phone looks very premium due to the metal frame and the glass body. It also feels comfy in the hand except for the weight of 191 gm. All good things come heavy but this is only in the weight, not the price.
With such a flagship-level processor, you will not have to complain about the performance and heavy multitasking. Similarly, there is also no issue with gaming performance.
Another distinguishing feature of the phone is the in-display fingerprint sensor which is quite fast and accurate. With this accuracy, this security will be prevalent for some years for the premium phones until a new one appears. For now, It is better than the face unlock.
Camera
Regarding the camera, Redmi K20 pro has a pop up camera for selfies and triple rear cameras. When we select the selfie from camera UI, the front camera pops up from the top of the phone with LED lights on it. The resolution of the front camera is 20 MP, f/2.2 with HDR, AI, portrait mode and beauty filter.
The triple camera setup on the rear is of 48 MP main lens, f/1.8, 13 MP wide lens f/2.4 and 8 MP telephoto, f/2.4. The rear camera also supports PDAF/ Laser AF, Dual LED flash and HDR. The primary lens sensor is of Sony IMX586 which is same as that of OnePlus 7 pro. The photos from Redmi K20 Pro are sharp with good color reproduction. We are sure you will complain about its camera in brightly lit conditions.
The phone also supports slo-mo video in 960 fps and 4K video recording capability. It has a dedicated night mode for special photographic algorithm just for low light situations.
RAM
Although Redmi K20 pro has a RAM of 6 GB and 8 GB, only the 6 GB version is likely to come here. Similarly the storage of the Redmi K20 Pro is 128 GB which is enough for a normal user. Even if you use the phone for heavy videos and photos, you can copy it easily to your computer.
Battery
The phone not only packs all the heavy specs but also sports 4000 mAH battery and 27W charging. The heavy battery makes the phone last longer even with heavy usage. As per some review, the phone has SOT of 6.5 to 7 hrs which is quite great. The huge battery is also the reason for the heavy weight of the phone. Although the phone supports 27W charger, it is not available in the box which has 18W charge inside. So you have to buy 27W charger from outside.
While all of the phone manufacturers are opting out the headphone jack, Xiaomi keeps the 3.5 mm audio jack in the Redmi K20 pro phone. For the data connectivity and charging, the phone has a USB type C port.
The phone has a Hi-Fi DAC audio playback provided with a Qualcomm WCD9340 Audio Chip. This provides higher quality audio experience to soothe your ears.
What does it lack?
The phone lacks the micro SD slot and NFC. Which is not a big deal for as 128 GB is a lot and regarding NFC, there is no payment system based on it. Similarly, with such flagship level phone, we also expect the water and dust resistance feature which is also missing, as they have to cut the costs in any of them. But Redmi K20 pro has P2i nano-coating which makes the phone splash proof only.
Operating System
The phone runs on MIUI 10 over Android 9.0 Pie which has a nice smooth performance in almost all of Xiaomi phones. MIUI 10 also includes Always on Display and system-wise dark mode that blends well with the AMOLED display.
Difference between K20 and K20 Pro
Despite having the same design and looks, Redmi K20 is powered by a non-flagship level processor (Snapdragon 730). All the camera specs including the Pop-up selfie and the rear ones are the same except for no 4K video at 60 fps support in K20. For the RAM and storage, Redmi K20 comes in 6GB+64 GB and 6GB+128 GB versions. Whereas K20 Pro comes in 6GB +128GB and 8GB +256GB versions.
