ICT Award is being held every year in Nepal since 2016. Furthermore, it is currently the biggest tech award in Nepal. The main aim of this ceremony is to celebrate national excellence in the disciple of IT sectors in the country. This time around, Huawei was the title sponsor of the ceremony thereby making it Huawei ICT Award 2020. Find the details about the ICT award 2020 event and the list of winners below.
Huawei ICT Awards 2020 Grand Finale was held successfully on 26th December 2020 at Soaltee Crown Plaza, Kathmandu. Similarly, the ceremony aired live on Himalayan HD, Dish Home, Hamro Patro, as well as on ICT Award’s Official Facebook and Instagram Page.
The prestigious award ceremony honored winners of a total of 12 Different Categories. However, the ceremony was organized with limited participation of contestants as well as guests whilst keeping the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic in mind.

Honorable Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Prabat Gurung, Former Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Ganesh Shah, MoCIT’s Secretary, Mr. Hari Bashyal as well as many other special guests made the award ceremony more alluring.

The Huawei ICT Awards 2020 was presented in 12 different categories this year. Similarly, this around, the event received more than 350 online nominations and then got selected through different phases from jury advisors. Furthermore, Huawei ICT Awards 2020 had 14 jury members as well as 14 Jury advisors.
Categories like Startup ICT Awards, Rising Student ICT Awards, Product ICT Awards as well as Ncell Innovation ICT Awards were announced after being selected in various categories. Nonetheless, some notable winners attracted huge applause and prizes. Cryptogen Nepal Pvt. Ltd. won the Startup ICT Award. Their work regarding information security and helping many companies to equip themselves with cybersecurity helped them to achieve this award. Similarly, CPFDS and KYC management won the Product ICT Award for their Anti Money Laundering Solution. Furthermore, 18 banks and financial institutions in Nepal use this solution.
Sanchai Chau won the Rising Student Award as they developed a health consulting app to improve the daily lifestyle of an individual. Paaila Emergency Resuscitator won Ncell Innovation Driven Crisis Response Awards because they brought innovation in the Nepal market that provided critical ventilators to hospitals during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Mrs. Timila Yami Thapa won the Woman ICT Award which is brand new category, added this year. Furthermore, she kindly requested the Government of Nepal to invest in education as well as on giving loans and also focused on the importance of ICT by saying that an investment of Rs.1 can generate millions.
Huawei received good remarks from the special guest as well as the participants for being the event’s main sponsor. Mr. Ganesh Shah showed generous appreciation to Huawei Nepal for their dedication to contribute to the ICT sector of Nepal for more than 20 years now.
Similarly, Mr. Hari Banshyal thanked Huawei Nepal for helping to make the event a success that can contribute to building technologies to improve the ICT sector. Furthermore, Mr. Prabat Gurung awarded Huawei Nepal with a special token for supporting the event and the ICT sector of Nepal.
