NTC’s overall internet subscribers have reached more than 2 crores and the recently launched VoLTE service has added above 5 lakhs users. The company shared its overall service stats as of September 05, at a recent press conference.
The state-owned telco also reported that it is currently serving 2 crores, 4 lakh, 9 thousand, and 5 hundred and 78 users for mobile communications (GSM and CDMA). Meanwhile, its 3G and 4G mobile access have reached 1 crore, 99 lakhs, 71 thousand, and 86 users.
The company’s popular VoLTE service was launched only in June. But already, the next-gen voice call feature has been activated 5 lakhs, 63 thousand, and 62 times.

Meanwhile, the company also shared figures relating to its fiber-based data and voice services. As per its stats, NTC’s fiber broadband has connected 1 lakhs, 22 thousand, and 110 households as of September 5, reaching 108 local levels of 55 districts. There are around 135 locations where Ntc FTTH is available to the customers.
NTC’s Fiber Service Expanding
NTC has been replacing its dated copper-based landline service with fiber. So far, it has 1 lakh, 27 thousand, and 227 customers with access to the fiber-based telephone which is more reliable and secure from physical hazards.
Moreover, they have already built an FTTH network to serve 5.64 lakhs customers. With the announcement of the current fiscal year as FTTH service expansion year, Nepal Telecom has set its priority for FTTH expansion to all over the feasible places. They have also planned to integrate 11.74 lakh households for digital mapping.
NTC’s FTTH now comes with the Triple Play service comprising a digital TV service, broadband, and voice calls. Part of it, its IPTV is known as NTTV has found 2 thousand 5 hundred and 86 users so far.
Overall, NTC’s mobile service has 70.40% teledensity and its internet service enjoys 68.26% penetration.
In the same press conference, NTC cleared the air about call-tappings involvement. The company spokesman Rajesh Joshi made it clear that it is an outlaw to eavesdrop on anyone’s calls and the telco doesn’t even have the equipment to do so.
Nepal Telecom has also announced to launch its digital payment service Namaste Pay within Bhadra. The mobile money service is now under internal testing.
