Nepal Telecom (NTC) has begun its 4G mobile network in Kagbeni and Khinga. The arrival of the high-speed broadband network reinforces the connectivity around the popular tourist region in the Northern District of Mustang.
The latest 4G expansion in the region gives Ntc a wider network reach in the region. Once deprived of telecom services, Mustang is now getting higher broadband coverage thanks to the telco’s rural mobile service expansion.
The operator extended the service keeping in mind the route that connects Kagbeni with Muktinath temple. The connectivity will now benefit the locals, businesses, and visitors to the popular site.
The 4G network started operating after the operator set up a tower at Khinga, Baragung Muktichhetra ward no. 1. The operator has erected the mobile tower on a 25-meter-long temporary construction. This has started both 2G and 4G services for the first time in the area as per Keshav Sharma, Office in-charge and Engineer, Ntc Baglung.
2G is used for voice while 4G brings high-speed mobile broadband to smartphone users.

Kagbeni gets 4G upgrade
Previously, Kagbeni only had 2G and 3G mobile services. So, the people were deprived of high-speed mobile broadband. But now Ntc has brought the next-generation mobile service to the area. This allows people to enjoy fast internet speed and also HD phone calls via Ntc VoLTE service.
Although fast, 3G service is dated and pales compared to the high-performance capacity of 4G.
The operator has emphasized 4G network expansion in recent years and seeks to achieve blanket coverage by this FY 079/80. Meanwhile, you can share with us how Ntc 4G performs in your area below in the comments.
