Nepal’s two leading internet service providers (ISPs) WorldLink and Dish Home will screen the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 cricket live for free. The cricket fever has gripped the fans in Nepal and thanks to the ISPs, supporters will have one additional way of watching the matches at no cost.

WorldLink says that it will bring the matches live in cinemas and public screens across 15 cities across the country. The private company will play the matches Nepal will play in this popular tournament.

Another ISP Dish Home FiberNet is screening today’s Nepal vs. Pakistan match at multiple restaurants and malls in Kathmandu. It’s very likely that it will continue to screen the matches that Nepal plays in the least. Regarding the screening of the matches, WorldLink said:

“Experience the excitement of the Asia Cup at one of our thrilling FREE public screenings in 15 exciting locations.”

WorldLink is a connectivity partner with the Cricket Association of Nepal- CAN. In Nepal, the ISP provides internet infrastructure to the cricket governing body.

Locations where WorldLink will screen Nepal’s Asia Cup 2023 cricket matches

WorldLink says that it will run Nepal’s matches from the Asia Cup 2023 in various cities across Nepal. The fans will be able to catch the live action in film halls and complexes. Here are the locations:

  • Hanuman Complex, Birtamod
  • DMX Cinema, Damak
  • Central Mall area, Biratnagar
  • Near the Ghopa Taxi stand, Dharan
  • Anand Shaha Rajdevi Covered Hall, Rajbiraj
  • Ram Mandir, Ghantaghar, Janakpur
  • Gaur Rice Mill, Gaur
  • Maisthan temple, Birgunj
  • Hupra Chaur, Hetauda
  • Anshan Chautari, Damauli
  • Devinagar Chhaupari, Butwal
  • Lumbini Gate, Bhairahawa
  • Arghakhachi Assembly Hall, Sandhikhara
  • Bharatpur Ground, Dang
  • Dream Party Palace, Tulsipur

Next, WorldLink will screen the Nepal vs. India match on Bhadra 18 starting at 3:15 PM NST. The ISP will play all the matches Nepal will play but there is no announcement regarding the same for other fixtures where Nepal is not involved.

Besides the free live-action provided by ISPs in cinemas, complexes, and public places, there are different ways you can catch up with matches and updates. Find out all here: How to watch the Asia Cup 2023 live in Nepal? Also find fixtures, squad, venue, and more

No coverage on NetTV

There were some indications that WorldLink could air live Asia Cup 2023 tournaments on its IPTV platform NetTV. But sadly, no confirmation arrived and today’s Nepal vs. Pakistan match also didn’t feature on the OTT app. It seems that the public screening of the matches is to compensate for the tournament’s absence on its OTT service. And that’s not an underwhelming offering either.

WorldLink is bringing live matches to the public to promote the sport in the country.

Dish Home is screening the Nepal vs. Pakistan cricket match

Likewise, Dish Home is screening the Nepal vs. Pakistan cricket match from the Asia Cup 2023 tournament at various malls and restaurants inside Kathmandu. As per the DTH/ISP, the inaugural game of the competition was played live in KL Tower (Chabahil), BG Mall (Gongabu), Eyeplex Mall (Baneshwor), and in many restaurants.

The Asia Cup 2023 cricket competition is a massive event for cricket fans. It’s even more crucial for Nepali fans as Nepal is playing for the first time in this regional competition. As many are seeking ways to watch the match live at home or outside, ISPs’ initiative to screen the match for free in public places and cinemas will delight all sports fans and more particularly cricket fanatics.
