Nepal Telecom has completed copper-to-fiber network migration for its PSTN and ADSL services in its telecom office in Naxal, Kathmandu. The latest upgrade means the company has now achieved fiber network coverage in the majority of the capital.
NT shut down the copper network in its Naxal office on Ashar 14, 2081 making way for the modern and advanced fiber-to-the-home technology. The company’s acting managing director Sangita Pahadi (Aryal) switched off the legacy older-generation telephone network at an event organized at its Naxal office. Now the office can provide high-speed NT fiber internet and voice services to its customers.
Unlike ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line), FTTH technology enables symmetric high-speed broadband services through fiber cable. Besides, the company also provides voice, data, and Nepal Telecom TV (IPTV) through a single fiber cable which is also known as Triple Play service.

Pahadi emphasized that the employees’ role is crucial in maintaining the customer’s positive feedback for the company’s services.
Through NT fiber internet with FTTH technology, customers get voice, high-speed internet, and television services from the same cable.
With this latest fiber upgrade, Nepal Telecom continues to replace the old copper technology in the country.
