Ncell Foundation has awarded paralympic winner Palesha Goverdhan for her history-making achievement in the Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Marking its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) under the Ncell Foundation, the private telco presented the athlete with a Rs 1 million (Rs 10 lakh) cash prize while also recognizing the entire team.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Nepal, in a program held on Wednesday, Ncell awarded cash to Palesha and the team for landing the historical bronze medal winner at the Paris Paralympics. The private telco felicitated Palesh and the team through the Ncell Foundation under its CSR program.
Likewise, Ncell presented Palesha’s Para Taekwondo coach Kaviraj Negi Lama with a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh. Other Taekwondo players Bhaarahsingh Mahata, swimmer Bhim Bahadur Kumal, and swimming coach Bijenman Shrestha also received 1 lakh cash prizes.
“This honor has boosted our morale and now I aim to bring the gold medal for the country. I am grateful to Ncell for contributing to the development of our neglected para sports in collaboration with NPC,” said Palesha.
Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Choudhary, Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer of Ncell Bishalmani Upadhyaya, NPC Chairperson Radha Ghale, and Ncell’s Corporate Communication and CSR Head Bhishakha Laxmi Khadka jointly distributed the awards to the Para players.

Ncell Foundation honors Paralympic athletes
On the very occasion, NPC Nepal also honored Ncell for providing high morale and encouragement to the Paralympic athletes and appreciated the telco’s support towards the development of the Paralympic Games. Minister of Youth and Sports Chaudhary and others honored Ncell.

After Palesha won the historic medal, Ncell announced to honor him and other participating athletes and coaches with cash prizes. Ncell started cooperation with NPC starting on its 18th anniversary in 2023.
With this collaboration, the company supports players’ training and development who represent Nepal in national and international games under the theme ‘We are for you’.
