Leading telco Ncell is felicitating Para Taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan with a reward honoring her historic win at the Paris Paralympics 2024. It’s also the highest prize a player from Nepal has won in the country’s sports history.
Ncell is extending special recognition to Palesha and the Paralympic team that represented Nepal in the popular sporting fair. Ncell has announced a reward of Rs 1 million (10 lakh) to Palesha Goverdhan and an additional Rs 1 million to the team including the paralympic players and coaches.
CONGRATULATIONS: Para taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan won a bronze medal in the K44 category at the Paralympics 2024 Games Paris.
Ncell collaborates with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) to provide support and motivation to the organization and players. The 1 million reward is announced to honor players’ and coaches’ hard work and dedication they displayed during the Paris games. It’s also a part of Ncell’s wide list of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Ncell also signed an MoU with NPC marking its 18th anniversary with a “Here for You” theme. With its involvement, the private telco supports paralympic players with their training, development, and motivation.

Palesha delights!
Palesha has likewise, expressed her joy at her exploits during the Paralympics 2024 while also sending gratitude to Ncell for the handsome reward. “I’m on cloud nine! It feels like just yesterday, said the bronze winner at the Paris Paralympics, “I embarked on my taekwondo journey, completely unaware that I would reach such incredible heights in the Paralympics and secure the first-ever medal for my country. I once dared to dream and took a chance to make a difference, and I’m so grateful I did. I never lost faith in myself and fought tirelessly to keep that dream alive. It’s truly amazing, and I couldn’t be happier! This medal is not mine but for my country. I feel blessed to be representing Nepal and bringing home the historic prize,” said Palesha Goverdhan, sharing the excitement of her exciting win.
“Throughout this journey, I encountered many incredible individuals, each of whom contributed significantly to my success. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family, all the coaches from the National Taekwondo Association and NPCs, my sponsors, and friends. A special shoutout to Ncell, who has been like family since the Asian Para Games. Thank you for your unwavering belief in me and for supporting me at every turn. I look forward to embarking on a new chapter together,” she added.
