Nepal Telecom (NTC) has conducted its 21st anniversary on Magh 22, 2081. The company marked the historical event at a program at its central office, various provincial directorates, and telecom offices. At the program at its central office, the company highlighted its progress, while also launching new services, and announcing NT 21st anniversary offer.
The event organized at the company’s central office was chaired by the Secretary of the Communication Ministry and NT board chairperson Mrs. Radhika Aryal.
Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung was the chief guest at the event. During his address, he expressed best wishes for the company on the occasion of the anniversary. He also praised Nepal Telecom as an organization with the most glorious history among the public corporations backed by the government.
The minister also requested the company to identify and draw attention to the changing environment by modernizing, developing, and modifying services to provide quality services to all users.
He stated that the government would support the systematic operation of telecom by amending the policies and rules related to telecommunications in a timely manner. He also urged for the expansion of services along with quality improvement for significant improvement in services and income growth in the coming days.

Need needs to further diversify services to meet customer needs!
MoCIT Secretary and NT Board Chairperson Radhika Aryal praised Nepal Telecom‘s contribution to expanding access to services even in geographically remote and remote areas of the country with quality telecommunication services. She urged the company to diversify its services in accordance with market competition and customer needs, adopt appropriate marketing strategies, address customer complaints promptly, and make timely improvements in employee mobilization and work culture.
She also expressed confidence that the company would be successful in further contributing to the government’s plan to digitalize the country by ensuring that all citizens can easily use telecommunication services, reducing the digital divide, and providing services in a leading position in the telecommunication sector.
Speaking at the program, Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) Chairman Bhupendra Bhandari expressed his best wishes that Nepal Telecom has been in a leading role in the telecommunication sector so far and will continue the same in the future as well. He also said that the company needs to make timely improvements and conduct detailed research on customer experience and feedback.
NT Board Members representing the employees Lok Bahadur Katwal requested the company to keep opportunities open to ensure professional development for all employees. He also expected support from the Communication Ministry and regulatory bodies for necessary policies for the company and to maintain the company as a leading telecommunications service provider for the stability of the company in a competitive environment.
Ntc user base continues to grow with 4G and FTTH expansion
Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sangita Pahadi also provided an overview of the company’s overall situation. She said that the company has been continuously increasing its customer base after launching 4G LTE mobile/data and optical fiber-based FTTH services in all 77 districts of the country. Ntc’s FTTH reached 77 districts recently in 2081 while Ntc 4G is available in 98% local levels.
She said that data use has increased significantly accounting for over 90% of the total mobile data consumption. She informed the work progress through the Rural Telecommunications Development Fund (RTDF) and highway network progress. Similarly, she said that the 5G service launch is now a priority.
Stating that the company has been operating various programs under corporate social responsibility (CSR) for education, health, social development, environmental protection, disaster management, poverty alleviation, entrepreneurship, and sports. Mrs. Pahadi said that these CSR works have helped provide free education services online to 200,000 students of government and community schools in remote areas participating in the 2081 BS SEE examination. He also mentioned the work of providing e-library services in various community libraries, providing useful materials such as computers, white canes, etc. to the visually impaired and elderly citizens, providing support under corporate social responsibility to areas affected by natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and earthquakes as in the past, and assisting in the beautification and greenery enhancement of parks of special importance and places of religious and cultural importance will be continued.
Nepal Telecom honors contributors at its 21st anniversary
At the Nepal Telecom 21st Anniversary events, the company’s provincial directorates, sub-regional directorate Nepalgunj, and wireless service directorate of all seven provinces honored the recharge card sellers with the highest transaction amount and the customers who paid the highest revenue for various services of the company, as well as the 1st and 1st telecoms offices across seven provinces who repaired services the same day they received complaints on IVR 198.
Additionally, the company presented employees with medals and certificates who completed 20 years of service in the company.
On the same occasion, Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung declared Karnali Province copper technology. He also inaugurated the commercial operation of Ntc VoWiFi service. The company has also enabled an online service to get Ntc eSIM.
On the same occasion, the company started 4G service in Khalikharka of Chingad Rural Municipality, Surkhet and Thuli Bheri Municipality in Dolpa.
