Asus Nepal has launched its new-generation laptop – Zenbook S 16 (UM5606), a 16-inch ASUS AI PC with premium features. It’s the first-ever ultra-thin AI PC from the brand and boasts a 3K OLED display, AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 processor with up to Radeon™ 890M graphics, and WiFi 7 support. Design and Display
The Asus Zenbook S 16 is redesigned from inside out with its chassis now integrating a new Ceraluminum, a high-tech ceramic hybrid material. Asus claims that the material provides the laptop an unparalleled strength and effectively avoids scratches and wear.
The Zenbook S 16 boasts a 3K Asus Lumina OLED display and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Besides, the hardware features six speakers which is an unprecedented feature in an ultra-thin laptop and serves to provide a cinematic experience while consuming videos, especially movies.

Performance
Under the hood, the Zenbook S 16 is powered by The AMD Ryzen AI 300-Series processors with up to 30 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It boasts a TDP of up to 28 watts and features a built-in Ryzen AI engine that delivers up to 50 TOPS suitable even for the top AI applications. Further, the laptop leverages the benefit of advanced CNC milling so it incorporates a 3D vapor chamber in the ultra-quiet ambient cooling system. The result? A top-end performance of up to 28 W CPU TDP with minimal noise.
In addition, the dedicated Copilot Key and a 40% larger 16:10 touchpad come with support for smart gestures further enhancing the usability of the laptop.
The laptop has multilayered security to protect user data. It’s protected by the Microsoft Pluton processor and a new Windows passkeys which store authentication data. Asus claims that there is no chance of any data leakage. Likewise, the biometric setup is upgraded and privacy features are backed by the AiSense IR camera system which includes facial recognition for automatic login and logout, Adaptive Lock, and Adaptive Dimming.
Connectivity
For connectivity, the Zenbook S 16 comes with a full set of I/O ports, comprising two USB 4 Type-C, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, and an audio combo jack. The laptop supports WiFi 7 too which offers the fastest broadband to date.

Our Verdict
By its design and capability, the laptop is an extraordinary fit for all user groups with varying needs – IT students, office workers, and all who want a professional laptop that does most of the document work to casual editing too. It’s ultrathin in body, stunning in design, and boldly powerful. But the pricing may be a little climb for mere mortals as it’s beyond what regular earners can afford.
