Hamro Patro app has recently achieved a milestone of 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store (Android). Now, the app is also available with a subscription cost. The app continues to be one of the most popular and most downloaded Nepali apps with its huge range of features and services.

Released in 2012, Hamro Patro is a Nepal-based app that started as a Nepali online calendar. It gained popularity gradually, and today, it is a comprehensive app with several attractive features.

Hamro Patro Features

In the beginning, Hamro Patro was just an online Nepali calendar, as the name suggests. People could only observe Nepali dates and occasions. But now, the app includes a bunch of features that come into use almost daily in our lives.

Some of the interesting and commonly used features of the Hamro Patro app are as follows:

  • Horoscope
  • Video Conference (Chautari Meet)
  • Nepali Forex
  • Blog/ Literature
  • Nepali ecards
  • Vegetable rate
  • Gold-silver rate
  • Hamro Pay digital wallet service
  • Online-generated Kundali
  • Compatibility checker
  • Radio
  • Podcasts
  • Share Market Price
  • Bank interest rate
  • News updates
  • Quiz
  • Hamro Jyotish
  • Audios/ Videos and games
  • Nepali Dictionary

Hamro Patro subscription fee

Hamro Patro is now with a base subscription fee of Rs 199. But as an offer, it’s currently available at Rs 10. Yearly subscription to the app costs Rs 2,000.

Hamro Patro “Premium” costs Rs 299 monthly or Rs 3,000 annually. The top subscription, “Premium Plus,” costs Rs 599 monthly and Rs 6,000 a year. With a subscription, users won’t see any ads on the Hamro Patro app.

In-app Hamro Pay digital wallet service

In a major new integration, Hamro Patro brought its digital wallet service through an in-app feature, Hamro Pay. Like other major mobile payment platforms, the service lets users make utility payments, top up their phones, pay at merchants (NepalPay QR), etc. The company has recently also added split bill and bank-link features, and promises to incorporate more such innovative and unique features to provide an efficient mobile payment alternative.

Hamro Patro is now also available as a standalone app onthe Play Store.

That’s not all. The company now provides an in-app video-conferencing service called ‘Chautari Meet‘. It lets users make video calls without any time limit. The move broadens the company’s already large portfolio of services.

Personal Experience

I have been using this app for 6 years now. What’s so remarkable about this app is that it is easy to use and yet has a wide array of features in it. Getting the app is not difficult either. Being an Android user, I get it from the Play Store, and frequent updates also keep it fresh from bugs and security issues.

My first impression of the app was astonishing. I found the front display of the app simple yet attractive. The home page includes all the features, but it doesn’t look congested. The layout is handy and satisfying.

Similarly, the app enables us to see the date and time and helps to keep ourselves updated with current affairs, trending news, foreign exchange rates, vegetable rates, and many more.

Besides, you can also create your Kundali online and look at your horoscopes. The app even has a compatibility checker to match your horoscope with other horoscopes. Also, you can prepare Nepali ecards during special occasions and send them to families and friends.

Furthermore, Hamro Patro added Hamro message, an Instant messaging and calling feature within the app. Using this, you can make a call/send a message, or a ticker to Hamro message users easily.

Hamro Patro enters India

Hamro Patro has been registered in India as it seeks further expansion. The company was registered as Hamro Patro India Private Limited on July 12, 2023. As per Rudra Raj Pandey, the company chair, soon, the app will be available to users in India and get Jyotish, gifts, and telehealth services.

Hamro Patro App is available in several languages

The distinct feature of Hamro Patro for me is that it is available in several languages such as Bhojpuri, Maithili, Doteli, Bajjika, Nepali, and English. Hamro Patro’s addressing the diverse languages of our country is highly appreciable. Similarly, the functional feature that compels me to use it daily is the Nepali keyboard, as it makes Nepali typing easy. It supports Unicode conversion, which is helpful for people who are unable to type in Nepali.

My all-time favorite feature of Hamro Patro is the audio feature. The audio feature allows me to listen to some entertaining and inspiring books and podcasts. I can find audio novels, podcasts, stories, news, songs, and many more on a single platform.

Hamro Patro is a highly recommended app for Nepalese living abroad as well as in the homeland. It garnered 5 million downloads in 2018, and within three years, it has successfully crossed 10 million downloads.

Hamro Patro is a useful Nepali app that you must have on your phone in 2021. Currently, the app has been downloaded over 15 million times in total and has over 18 lakh daily active users.
