Hello Sarkar has urged the Ministry of Communication, Information, and Technology (MoCIT) to monitor internet service after getting complaints about not getting subscribed to internet speed.
Retweeting a complaint from ISP’s customer “Ashok Pokharel”, Hello Sarkar requested stricter internet service monitoring from the Communication Ministry. The complainant drew the attention of Hello Sarkar for not getting the speed the internet service provider (ISP) promised.
Pokharel tweeted “Pay for 300/150 Mbps get 20.9/2.2 Mbps” with a screenshot that backed up his complaint. Hello Sarkar which is the government-run complaint registering system, retweeted and called for better monitoring.
Many users just like him (Ashok Pokharel) have registered their complaints about not getting the service agreed with the ISP, Hello Sarkar wrote, “It is requested that the ministry implements a more effective monitoring and put an end to such instances.”
It’s common to hear about internet users not getting the speed they are paying for. Most ISPs provide at least a 3-digit internet speed these days. However, the quality and consistency often come into question. Mostly, subscribers bemoan not getting the speed they get.

Reasons for poor WiFi performance
Slow speeds are frustrating but can owe to a range of factors. Some may be within users’ own control and beyond them. It’s possible that you get lower speed during peak hours when your service provider throttles the speed under its Fair UsagePolicy (FUP) Scheme. This is what you sign up for when you purchase an internet plan. However, fiber breakage, dysfunctioning ONU, and busy networks can also result in poor broadband performance. Subsea fiber system disruption also causes mass network outages. Check out: Causes of Network Outages and what to do?
We suggest that you first check for any malfunction in your internet’s hardware first. The fiber cable might suffer some tinkering, or the router may have its own issue. Some routers blink red light for getting low power which also subdues your internet speed. You can find such indicated in your ISP’s app. There are more you can do too.
