The Motorola Moto G05 phone has been launched in Nepal. The phone is brought into Nepal via CG Mobiles, the authorized local seller of the US brand. It’s a budget phone with Motorola’s signature design and combines some exciting features such as a 6.67-inch display, a 5,200mAh battery, Android 15 OS, etc. Here, we take a closer look at this entry-level phone’s features and specifications as well as its official price in Nepal.
Motorola Moto G05 Overview
Design and Display

Moto G05 inherits the signature Motorola design of recent phones. It’s got a raised vertical camera module on the back, and an M logo in the middle. Design-wise, it’s common and beautiful as a Moto phone. In terms of measurements, it has a body profile of 165.7 x 76 x 8.2 mm and weighs 188.8 grams. The front panel comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and has a silicone polymer on the back (eco leather finish). Likewise, the phone is rated IP54 for protection against dust and water.
In terms of display, the Moto G05 features a large 6.67-inch display. It’s an IPS LCD technology with a 90 Hz refresh rate and uses a 720 x 1604-pixel resolution. If you are more into an FHD phone, the advantage of only HD screens is that they provide better battery efficiency.
Camera

The phone is given a single camera setup on the back consisting of a 50 MP main wide camera with PDAF support for an accurate focus. Likewise, the front-facing camera is an 8 MP sensor for selfies and videos. Given its price, there are not many flashy specs on the optics. However, a 50 MP camera is an able sensor to take detailed photos. Also, both cameras are able to record videos at 1080p at 30 fps.
Performance and Storage
The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, which is a 12 nm processor. It has eight cores in a 2+6 setup with a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The handset comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. But there’s an expansion slot to raise the storage capacity of the phone. The phone boots on Android 15, the latest version Google has to offer as of now.
Battery and Charging
One of the best aspects of the phone is its 5,200mAh battery, which should see off at least a day on moderate to even heavy usage. The phone also comes with an 18W fast-charging support to save time on charging.

Our Verdict: Is the Motorola Moto G05 a safe pick entry-level phone?

Motorola’s Moto G05 is an entry-level offering, so we get just that. However, the good thing is that the bar has been raised so high on Android that even budget phones come with some good selling points. For me, the phone’s 5,200mAh battery and 6.67-inch display stand out, while I also reckon the phone for its trendy design. And to sum up, it’s a good phone for a phone under Rs 13,000.
