Realme has introduced the next iteration of its popular Realme 11X smartphone, which goes by the name, Realme 12X 5G in Nepal. This time, the company has significantly enhanced the phone’s memory and storage capabilities alongside the same Dimensity 6100+ SoC but at a much cheaper price. Design and Display
The Realme 12x 5G retains most of its predecessor’s design elements, with a notable change being the repositioning of the rear camera island to the center. This aligns it with other members of the Realme 12 series. It boasts IP54 water and dust resistance while maintaining a sleek profile of just 7.89mm. The phone is available in two attractive finishes: Twilight Purple and Woodland Green. In terms of display, it features a 6.72-inch LCD panel with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and can achieve brightness levels up to 950 nits under High Brightness Mode (HBM). It also comes certified with TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification for eye protection.

Performance
In terms of performance, the Realme 12x 5G retains the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset from its predecessor, offering a smooth user experience suitable for daily tasks and light gaming. Although there’s no upgrade in the processor, the Realme 12x 5G offers a significant boost in memory and storage configurations, coming in an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in Nepal. It supports memory expansion via a MicroSD card up to 2TB. The phone runs on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14.
Camera
The Realme 12x 5G is equipped with a primary 50MP camera, a step down from the 64MP sensor found in its predecessor. Plus, you also get a 2MP black & white camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. As for the videos, both the front and back cameras can only record up to 1080p res videos at 30fps.
Battery and Others
Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery which supports fast charging up to 45W. And Realme ships a compatible SuperVOOC charger bundled inside the box. Talking of the connectivity features, the Realme 12X 5G includes 5G, VoLTE, Wifi 5, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, it lacks the 4G band 20 which will cause issues in the rural areas for using NTC 4G. In case you didn’t know, Nepal Telecom uses Band 20 for operating 4G in rural areas.

Our Verdict
In conclusion, the Realme 12x 5G builds upon the strengths of its predecessor with enhanced memory and storage capabilities at a cheaper price tag, making it a compelling choice in its price segment. But an AMOLED panel would have been the icing on the cake here.
