Just five months later of the launch of Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, Realme has come up with new series of their mid-range phones. Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro was launched together with great features. Realme 6 Pro is a premium variant whereas Realme 6 is a base variant. These phones come with new chipsets, fast 90Hz displays, and 30W fast-charging.
Realme 6 Pro
Following the footprint of Redmi Note 8 Pro, 6 Pro becomes the first Realme phone to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G90T – gaming-oriented chipset. It also comes with altogether six cameras with four at the back and two at the front. Packing a large 4,300 battery, it can charge from 0-100% in one hour with its fast 30W VOOC charging. Design and Display
Realme 6 Pro is an excellent looking colorful phone in which the front and the back panel is made of glass sandwiched in a plastic frame. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and has a three-layer waterproofing design for water and dust resistance but its not officially IP certified. There is a pill-shaped dual selfie camera at the right top of the screen, and the fingerprint sensor is placed at the right side which doubles as the power button. At the back, there is a quad-camera setup in an array that looks similar to its predecessor – Realme 5 Pro.
For the display, the handset packs a 6.6” LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The key spec is the refresh rate – the screen is capable of 90Hz, and this might be the first to have this panel in the mid-range phones. Overall, the handset appears to look premium matched to other similarly priced phones.
Camera
Realme has made a step forward in the camera department. Altogether there are six cameras on this device with four on the back and two at the front for the selfies. The quad-camera setup at the back consists of a 64MP primary sensor( f/1.8, 26mm), 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens(8 MP, f/2.3, 13mm), 12MP telephoto lens(f/2.5, 54mm), and a 2MP depth sensor(f/2.4, 22mm). The main camera can record 4K videos at 30fps.
The smartphone does offer a dual-camera setup in a pill-shaped cutout which is similar to that of Poco X2. The cutout holds a 16MP primary sensor (f/2.1, 26mm) and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. We can expect some great photos from the phone in the right lighting conditions. Additionally, the phone camera app offers the dedicated night more, which will enhance the low-light photographs using its AI engine.
Performance and Software
The Realme 6 Pro takes the pride of the first smartphone to launch in the Indian market powered with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC. SD 720 is a popular SoC that contributes to the right amount of processing power along with energy efficiency as it is built on 8nm architecture. The chipset is coupled with 6 and 8GB of RAM. For the storage, the phone supports the UFS 2.1 storage option offering three variants of 64GB and 128GB.
Realme 6 Pro is a powerful mid-range handset with competes with Poco X2 in the performance department as well. It is quite an excellent gaming phone which runs games like PUBG mobile, Call of Duty(COD) without any hiccups. For the ease of gamers, there is 3.5mm headphone jack, and Realme added fingerprint scanner at the side similar to that of Redmi Note 9 Pro. Similarly, the 90Hz display is also a sticking point the smartphone gamers as the refresh rate improves the overall smoothness while playing games.
