After the Realme C21 Review, we got our hands on the Realme C21Y. Currently, the Reame C21Y sells at Rs. 17,099 for 4GB/64GB variant In Nepal. However, this time around, the Realme C21Y device really felt like a budget phone, unlike Realme C21 that felt like a mid-ranger in budget price. With no further to do, let’s start the detailed Realme C21Y Review.
Furthermore, to test the device at a maximum level, I took it with me during my Mardi Himal Trek. During this trek, I took photos with this device, played games, recorded videos and used its flash, and did so many things. I’m impressed with the battery backup that it provides. Let’s talk more about this device in our Realme C21Y Review.

Realme C21Y Review
Good HD+ Display and Design
The display of the Realme C21Y is the same as the Realme C21. Therefore, the viewing experience on this phone is similar. However, the scrolling smoothness is noticeable. The scrolling isn’t as good as Realme C21 because there’s no option of Smooth Scrolling here.
Sometimes, the touch also feels a bit off. While swiping through Instagram and Facebook stories, many of the times the swipe used to go off and show previous stories rather than the next story. The same thing went during gaming as well. During playing PES 2021, sometimes, the Switch button and Pass Button would press a late and the Direction stick was also the same.
However, when it came to viewing videos and watching videos on Youtube, the experience was good. Youtube videos in 1080p felt clear so did the photos on Instagram and Instagram. The Mini-Drop never disturbed my viewing experience and watching movies was also good.
The design of the Realme C21Y is as same as C21Y and so is the feel. Teh Geometric-like finish helps in getting a good grip. I got the Cross Blue variant which looks so good yet it has anti-fingerprint properties. Using the device in One Hand is also of no problem. The design and build of the Realme C21Y are very satisfying.
13MP AI Triple Rear Camera
The camera setup of the Realme C21Y is as same as the Realme C21. However, the performance is not. Realme C21’s camera setup performance is better. This doesn’t mean the Realme C21Y’s camera performance is bad, it’s good. When photos are snapped with 13MP AI Main Sensor, the results come out great.
And when photos are snapped with Pro Mode on, the results are slightly better than that of standard 13MP AI Mode. The colors in the photos are good, the level of detail is well preserved and so is the quality. Even 2x Zoomed, 3x Zoomed, and 4x Zoomed photos have good color balance and detail. You can see some samples in the gallery above of mountains and flowers.
Now, let’s come to the Macro Mode. The details, colors are well balanced in this mode. Even in such a closeup, the quality looks good and every detail is recognizable. However, Night Mode is where I got mixed up. It’s both good and just ok at the same time. Sometimes you get good shots while sometimes you don’t.
Photos taken in Night Mode have good contrast and detail to them. Sharpness in those photos is also done just right. On the other hand, photos were taken at Night with Standard Mode have blown out colors and low-level detail. Coming to Portrait Mode, also gave me a mixed feeling. Sometimes the results are great while sometimes the edge burning ruins it. But for a budget phone, this camera performance is definitely applaudable.

Overall Performance
This is the most important part here now. But let’s first start with its gaming performance here. I played my always go-to gamePES 2021 in High Video Quality mode which is a graphics and power-hungry game. Most of the time, the gameplay was good but sometimes it felt sloppy. Mostly during playing Online with other users. It must be the aftermath of overload on GPU and CPU.
I also playedPUBG on HD Graphics at High Frame Rate settings. However, the PUBG gameplay was always smooth and never felt sloppy for dropping of frame rates. But the device always feels as if it’s heating up while gaming whether it’s PUBG or PES 2021. Plus, there’s no integration of Game Space or Game Booster here.
Also, the speakers aren’t that good, it’s average. Switching from one app to another is snappy and so is scrolling through the news feeds on social media. This device is perfect for people who don’t game much but use normal apps as well as social media and content consumption.
Good Battery Backup & Charging
In terms of battery backup and charging, I found the Relame C21Y to be on the level with Realme C21. The packed 5000mAh battery delivers what it promises and goes through all day without any worries. This battery lasted for 2 days straight when I only used it for snapping some photos, videos and going through social media during my Mardi Himal Trek.
There aren’t Battery Modes and available in this device like High-Performance Mode, Balanced Mode, and Low-Performance Mode. But there’s Battery Saving Mode and Ultra battery Saving Mode though. During my Realme C21Y Review, I played PUBG for half an hour with just 8 Percent of battery power. And it took me 9 Percent of battery power for half an hour of PES 2021 gaming.
This number equals more than 6 hours 30 mins of nonstop PUBG or PES 2021 gaming on a single charge. And we call it a top number for a budget phone. Nevertheless, during my charging test, I found the Realme C21Y to juice up by 30 Percent in 30 mins. That’s almost 1 hour and 40 mins to get full juice from 0 to 100 Percent. For a budget phone, these numbers are more than just great.

What’s in the Box?
The packaging of the Relame C21Y is very similar to Realme C21. The box comes in Realme’s theme color of Black and Yellow. You have to pull the box from inside to open it.
The first thing you will see is a small box that stores manuals and the SIM Ejector toolkit. Beneath it is the device itself. The device comes inside a plastic pouch that keeps it away from getting scratches and dust inside the box.
Underneath it, MicroUSB Data Cable and a Charging Adapter are placed. The Charging Adapter and MicroUSB Data Cable are in all White Color that making it look clean.
