Redmi Note 12 Series has arrived in China. The most popular midrange lineup from Redmi has always been the best-selling smartphone. Firstly, the new series are coming with up to 210W fast charging and a 200MP camera, a step up from its successor to Redmi Note 11 Series. Redmi Note 12
The first one in the lineup is the Redmi Note 12. This vanilla variant comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. By comparison, it is a step up from the 90Hz of its predecessor, the Redmi Note 11. Likewise, this Samsung panel has a peak brightness of up to 1200 nits and boasts a 240Hz touch sampling rate as well. In addition, the phone packs the horsepower of a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset under the hood. Moreover, this 6nm silicon supports 5G connectivity as well. Redmi Note 12 Pro
The second on the lineup is Redmi Note 12 Pro. As the name implies, the device comes with more powerful specs than the vanilla version. The display size is 6.67-inch which is an AMOLED panel. Further, it also supports a 120HZ fast refresh rate and up to 1 Billion colors. Likewise, it gets Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ certification as well. While for performance and power, there is Mediatek Dimensity 1080 chipset. This 5G silicon has the configuration of Octa-core (2×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55). Likewise, there are 4 variants; 6/128GB, 8/128GB, 8/256GB RAM, and 12/256GB.
Meanwhile, in the camera department, Redmi Note 12 Pro flaunts a triple camera setup. The primary lens is a Sony IMX766 50MP shooter with an f/1.9 aperture and OIS for stabilization. While the secondary lens is an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 119˚ FOV, followed by a 2MP macro unit. For videos, the main camera can shoot up to 4K @30fps with EIS. Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus also features a 6.67-inch centered punch-hole OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels (FHD+). As expected, there is a 120Hz fast refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate as well. Similarly, HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision support are also present on this model. Moreover, it is available in 4 colors; Time Blue, Mirror Porcelain White, Midnight Black, and a Winter Special Light Pink color.
Likewise, there is a Dimensity 1080 5G chipset as its sibling. So, the silicon is based on a 6nm fabrication process by TSMC. So, the Redmi Note 12 Pro series are the first devices to feature this chipset. To compare, it comes close to Snapdragon 778G chip. Moreover, the storage options are 8/256GB and 12/256GB variants.
200MP Camera and 210W Fast Charging
Redmi has upgraded its camera game by debuting a 200MP Samsung HPX lens on this model. This 1/1.4-inch sensor has OIS and an f/1.7 aperture. While for videography, the primary lens can capture up to 4K resolution videos at 30fps. Meanwhile, there is an 8MP ultrawide unit with an f/1.9 aperture and 119˚ FOV. followed by a 2MP macro lens. Moreover, the phone equips a 16MP snapper that can record 1080p videos at 60fps.
Evidently, the company has also driven the charging speed to the next level. Another iteration Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus Explorer Edition comes with 210W fast charging support. To note, Xiaomi’s 200W fast charging was unveiled just a while ago. Whereas, the regular Pro Plus edition enjoys 120W fast charging. The entire Redmi Note 12 series lineup is a pretty impressive one with the addition of new features such as a 200MP camera and 210W fast charging on the highest end.
