Design and Display
Both siblings share the same design language here, a glass front, aluminum frame, and glass back body. Even, the camera modules are identical as well as the button placements. Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is a bit heavy and thick though. Nevertheless, both phones have a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster as well. There is an IP53 rating for water splash and dust protection on both models.
The display is a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel on both phones as its predecessor, Redmi Note 11 Pro. Certified by HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision, the screen also supports a 120Hz fast refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate on both devices. Performance
Under the hood, the phone gets the horsepower of Mediatek Dimensity 1080 chipset. This 5G silicon is based on a 6nm fabrication process by TSMC. It is an Octa-core processor with 2×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. For handling gaming and graphics, there is a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. For the storage options, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus gets two variants; 8/256GB and 12/256GB. Also, the storage type is UFS 2.2. On the software side, it boots on MIUI 13 skin built on top of Android 12 OS.
Camera
Moving to the optics department, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus sports a massive 200MP Samsung HPX lens with OIS. This makes it the debut of the 200MP camera on the Redmi family. It is a 7P lens with an f/1.7 aperture and a sensor size of 1/1.4 inch. Meanwhile, there is an 8MP ultrawide camera on board with an f/1.9 aperture. It has a FOV of 119˚ for capturing wider scenes.
