Samsung has started a new lineup in A series with the launch of A51 and A71 phones in Nepal. The phones are the successor to the S version of A series phone and aim to combat the likes of Chinese Midrange phones. Both the phones take up the Infinity O display design with the centrally placed front camera and Quad rear camera setup. Find the detailed specs and price of Samsung Galaxy A51 and A71 in Nepal.
“We’re excited to build on the successful Galaxy A portfolio with the Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51. Since its launch last year, the Galaxy A series has become one of the most beloved smartphone ranges. The new Galaxy A71 and Galaxy A51 continue to offer the essential innovations that people love,” said Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, Mobile Business Head, Samsung Nepal. “We know that people want a device that looks good, lasts longer, and captures every experience as it happens and we’re proud to continue to deliver on those needs with the latest Galaxy A devices,” he adds.
Samsung Galaxy A51
The Galaxy A51 phone is the successor to the last year’s Samsung A50s, with a better-looking display, upgraded camera, and One UI 2.0 OS. A51 phone has the 6.5-inch FHD Super AMOLED Infinity O display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Infinity O display that was also available in M40 has now reached to new mid-range phones. Although the phone has a plastic finish, the front camera cutout along with the thinner chin and prism effect in the back does make the phone look solid and premium.
The A51 phone is powered by the Exynos 9611 (10nm) processor which is the same as that of the A50s. Regarding the RAM, the phone has either 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM whereas, for storage, both versions have 128 GB storage inbuilt space.
The phone has a fingerprint sensor within the display and a dedicated micro-SD card slot along with the dual nano-SIM support. There is a headphone jack at the bottom of the phone, which is inevitable for a phone of this price range.
Camera
The upgrade in the rear camera specs for this phone lies in the fourth camera dedicated to macro shots whereas the main sensor is the same 48 Megapixels. Although the rear camera is housed in a rectangle, the four cameras are aligned in an “L” shape. The cameras are little protruded which is good to prevent the damage.
The rear camera sensors are: 48 MP (f/2.0) wide with PDAF, 12 MP (f/2.2) Ultrawide, 5 MP, depth sensor (f/2.2) and 5 MP (f/2.4) Macro lens. With the aperture of 2.0, we can expect the camera to shoot a nice picture in broad daylight conditions. The additional macro lens should need to be tested enough if it is any value to the phone owners.
Regarding the selfie camera, Galaxy A51 phone has a 32 MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture and HDR support. Samsung has been lowering the sensor size lately in the front camera for better ergonomics as they changed the aperture size from 2.0 to 2.2. Even though the sensor size is decreased, Samsung maintains or even improves the picture quality.
Battery and more
The phone has the same battery of 4000 mAH and the same 15-watt charger as the A50s. There is a very little bump in the weight of the phone at 172 gms. A51 phone comes with One UI 2.0 over Android 10.
Connectivity options in the phone are: WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac in both 2.4 and 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5, All GPS technologies and USB type C connector.
This phone also supports the Band 3 for all the 4G networks and band 20 spectrum for Nepal Telecom 4G.

Samsung A71 phone has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. As the phone flaunts a punch-hole camera in the center, it looks more like the flagship: Samsung Note 10. Having an aperture size of 1.8 makes it suitable for the shots in all lighting conditions. The photos are also known to be sharp and colorful. AI switch if enabled will also recommend switching between those camera lenses to suit the particular shot. The macro camera is believed to take a shot of small objects with more details whereas the Depth camera provides the background blurry effects in the Live Focus (portrait) mode of the camera.
The front camera has a 32 MP resolution with an aperture size of f/2.2 and HDR support.
Battery and others
A71 comes with a higher battery capacity of 4500 mAH (same as that of Note 10 plus) with 25W fast charging. This is also one of the pros of the phone and it is known to last longer as well. The battery capacity also increases the weight of the phone which is 179 gms.
Regarding the operating system, the phone is powered by One UI 2.0 over Android 10. The dual nano-SIM phone supports Dual 4G supporting both band 3 and band 20 spectrum.
