Samsung Nepal added yet another A-series smartphone in Nepal. South Korean smartphone manufacturer launches the Galaxy A70s in the country. This smartphone is special for Samsung Nepal because it is the company’s first-ever 64MP camera phone. Galaxy A70s is not only the company’s first-ever 64MP camera phone but also the first 64MP camera phone in Nepal.
Other than 64MP camera, there is not any worthy upgrade over the Galaxy A70 and the phone is here to compete with the devices like Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro which are all set to launch in Nepal very soon. The price of Galaxy A70s in Nepal is Rs. 46,999 for the 6/128GB variant.
Galaxy A70s Overview
Display and Design
The Galaxy A70s packs a 6.7-inch FHD+ Infinity-U Display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (~393 ppi density). The use of the Super AMOLED panel of the smartphone allows the streaming of vivid and crisp videos and the display is even protected by Corning Gorilla Glass (unspecified). The Galaxy A70s also comes with Dolby Atmos that provides a 360-degree surround sound experience.
In the design front, there is a tiny waterdrop-style notch on the top of the display and a fingerprint scanner underneath it. And that says it all, nothing has changed even on the design and display front. The glass sandwiched device looks premium and the feel is good too to hold on the hand.
Camera
The major feature of this handset is its camera. The company claims that the new A70s smartphone manages to capture exceptional pictures in all lighting situations and also take steady videos. Galaxy A70s includes a primary 64MP camera sensor on the rear along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. These two lenses are further assisted by a 5MP Live focus lens that lets users click portrait shots with depth effect.
For selfies, the Galaxy A70s includes a 32MP shooter on the front in the tiny waterdrop notch. The handset comes with Night Mode and Super Stead Video camera features. It can take 2160p videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30 and 240fps.
Performance and OS
The Galaxy A70s is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor which is coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Although there are two variants of the device – 6/128GB and 8/128GB, only the 6/128GB variant is available in Nepal at the moment. As for the storage are concerned, there is a dedicated microSD card slot which supports SD card up to 1 TB. The Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Kryo 460 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 460 Silver) CPU has a good performance which is expected to run games, and other apps easily.
Samsung Galaxy A70s runs on One UI 1.0 on top of Android 9.0 Pie. This handset also features AI-powered Game Booster that improves frame rate, gaming performance, and longevity on high-performance games which are now common on the phones like Oppo A9(2020), Vivo V17 Pro and others. The Galaxy A70s also supports face unlock and Samsung Pay for easier payment.
Battery and Connectivity
The phone comes packed with a 4,500mAh battery with 25W superfast charging support. Samsung claims that the Galaxy A70s can last for a full day on a single charge in a moderate to heavy usage. The best thing about the 25W charging is, the charging brick comes included in the box, unlike the latest iPhones.
For connectivity, the device includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G with active 4G on both SIM cards.

Price and Availability of Galaxy A70s in Nepal
As we know, there is fierce competition in the smartphone market in the mid-range segment in Nepal. While the device launches here, the price is the major thing that people look into. The Galaxy A70s is priced at Rs. 46,999 for the 6/128GB variant and there is no official news regarding the availability of 8/128GB variant.
The phone at this price competes with devices like Oppo Reno2 F, Vivo V15, and others.
Looking at the price of the new phone, the device doesn’t seem to pack much of the value. There is a very tiny upgrade over its predecessor and this is not the thing that customers want. There isn’t even the upgrade over the already outdated chipset, which is quite depressing. The phone is available throughout the country and can be purchased in three color variants of Prism Crush Red, Prism Crush White, and Prism Crush Black.
