Chinese tech giant Oppo has introduced OPPO Air Glass at INNO Day 2022. The latest innovation in its portfolio of products is a groundbreaking smart glass powered by assisted Reality (aR). The device comes with the ability to recognize four different user movements – touch, voice, head movement, and hand motion allowing faster and easier access to information instantly.
Considered groundbreaking in its genre, the smart wearable is equipped with OPPO self-developed Spark, Micro Projector, and the cutting-edge Micro LED. The glass also includes a diffraction optical waveguide display.
Levin Liu, OPPO Vice President and Head of OPPO Research Institute was enthusiastic about its launch. He enthused, “OPPO has been exploring the possibilities of Extended Reality (XR) for a long time, and with Air Glass, we have finally created a smart glass product that is truly within the reach of consumers.”
Adding further, he said, “As its futuristic design suggests, OPPO Air Glass is set to revolutionize the way we view and consume information. The easy-to-use display can present key messages we need right in front of our eyes. With OPPO Air Glass, the world will never look the same again.”

Pioneering Design: Thin and lightweight Inspired by Nature
The device follows a unique monocle waveguide design language based on its distinctive design philosophy. The Glass features free-flowing curves, which gives it a lightweight and minimalist appearance. And with a weight of approximately 30 g, it remains one of the lightest monocle waveguide devices yet. The owner could wear it like a pair of any regular glasses.
The Glass Comes With Spark Micro Projector
The Glass comes with OPPO’s own Spark Micro Projector with cutting-edge Micro LED lenses. Besides, the lenses feature five high-transparency glasses that deliver an avant-garde aR experience.
Likewise, OPPO has tried to make it accessible to as many people as possible. This also includes the potential users with refractive errors such as myopia and hypermetropia.

OPPO Developing Diverse Applications for the Glass with Industry Partners
The wearable comes with a diverse range of utilities. OPPO has equipped it with a variety of applications such as weather, calendar, health, and teleprompter. It also comes with translation and navigation features.
But OPPO will be adding more to its utility. The company says it is collaborating with multinational tech giant Baidu to customize applications such as Baidu Walk & Bike Navigation and Explore Nearby for the Glass.

The navigation will help users receive instructions for travel on foot or on a bike. The Explore Nearby will display information about nearby stores, and major spots as per the user’s location.
OPPO Air Glass Availability
OPPO Air Glass will first launch in the Chinese Mainland Market in Q1 of 2022 then could launch in India and other regions shortly. The wearable will come in two color options – black, or white, along with two custom frame accessories. However, OPPO has not revealed its price yet.
