Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra features a glass sandwich design with a punch-hole cutout on the screen. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has retained the triple camera sensor. After using the 12MP main camera for a long time, Apple has finally leaped to a 48MP resolution. It has an aperture of f/1.8 and dual-pixel PDAF. For stabilization, the main camera features sensor-shift OIS technology. It takes full 48Mp res photos in RAW format as well. There is also a 2X Telephoto option using the 12MP resolution. There is a 12MP Telephoto sensor (77mm) with an f/2.8 aperture which has 3X lossless zoom. Likewise, the third camera is a 12MP ultrawide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2, this unit has 120 degrees FOV and dual-pixel Autofocus. Also, it has OIS for stabilization. Meanwhile, Samsung S22 Ultra comes with a quad rear camera setup the same as its predecessor. The main camera is an f/1.8 108MP sensor. Coming to the videography aspect, Samsung S22 Ultra can shoot max at 8K @24fps while iPhone 14 Pro Max can capture up to 4K @60fps. Samsung’s OIS has a 58% wider angle correction compared to its predecessor. While on the iPhone there is sensor-shift OIS. Here, Samsung can also shoot portrait videos at Full HD resolution. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro Max can shoot cinematic videos at 2.8K resolution. There is a pro-action mode for super stabilization. Likewise, the S22 Ultra has an Automatic Video-rate feature.

Both of the devices don’t get shipped with a charger though. On paper, Samsung wins here with a faster-charging speed. Moreover, the wireless charging support of 15W is present on both phones.

In Nepal, Samsung Galaxy Ultra is officially available in two variants; 12/256GB at Rs.169,000 and 12/512GB at Rs.179,000. The launch of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is not sure due to the import restrictions of the Nepal government. But still, the price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max can be expected to start at Rs.2,00,000 for the 256GB variant and might go up to Rs.280,000 for the 1TB variant.

Both of the phones are premium flagship devices. The iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 48MP main lens has been a massive upgrade for Apple. Its ability to shoot Pro Res videos at 4K is commendable. Also, the 2.8K quality cinematic (portrait) videos come at the top of the competition. Meanwhile, Samsung S22 Ultra is also a camera powerhouse. The 108MP primary lens, 50MP ultrawide, 10MP Telephoto lens with 3X and 10X optical zoom, and whopping 100x shots, are eye-catching. It can also record in 8K resolution.
