Apple has announced the launch date for its upcoming iPhone 15 series. With the jewel-like devices a few weeks away from now, there are many specs and speculations buzzing in the tech world. While the company has kept much within the shelves, many leaks, rumors, and suggestions have circulated online prior to its launch. In this post, we discuss everything we have heard about Apple’s premium series from SoC, to design, display, optics, and expected price, to the possibility of a massive 2 GB storage option, among others.
iPhone 15 Series Rumors Overview
The base variant iPhone 15 will come with a modest 6.1-inch screen, the iPhone 15 Plus will have a 6.7-inch screen. Likewise, the iPhone 15 Pro and the Pro Max variant will have high-end specs and price with the latter estimated to have a periscope-type telephoto camera.
In one of the major changes, 9to5MAC suggests that Apple could finally replace its lightning port with the USB-C Port across the four models due to the EU legislation. In another highlight, Dynamic Island could arrive for all iPhone 15 devices. There are also rumors that Apple could remove the physical buttons.
Design/Display
No major changes are expected in terms of the display size here. The vanilla iPhone is rumored that it could get a 6.2-inch screen but this is not likely and hasn’t been confirmed either. We don’t think Apple could go unconventional as yet.
But all the devices could use OLED screens. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could get a ProMotion 120 Hz display. @AppleShrimpPro is expecting 2500 peak brightness on the Pro models. The iPhone 14 Pro reaches 2000 neat peak brightness. The brighter the better viewing outdoors.
The bezels are also rumored to get thinner. The iPhone 15 Pro Max could even come with the thinnest bezel in the entire smartphone industry.
iPhone 15 Processor
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models could get the Apple A16 bionic chip. The Pro models could get the faster Apple A17 chipset which would make devices faster than its junior siblings. But all in the series will have the Qualcomm modem across its devices.
Another possibility that will likely delight buyers is that the Pro and Pro Max models could get a RAM bump to 8 GB RAM. The base versions could retain the 6 GB RAM.
Satellite connectivity
Apple introduced satellite connectivity with its iPhone 14 series. We expect the technology to only get better with the iPhone 15 series.
iPhone 15 battery and charging
There are no major changes expected for batteries for the iPhone 15 series. The larger batteries do make devices last longer as Apple calls “all-day” devices.
All four devices could or not share the same battery sizes as their current predecessors. From that standpoint, let’s expect that the iPhone 15 could keep the same 3,279 mAh battery, followed by a 4,325 mAh battery for the Plus model. The Pro variant could get a 3,200 mAh size battery and the Pro Max version might get a 4,323 mAh battery. Apple’s battery capacity looks lower in numbers compared to Android however, as optimization is the key, devices can last normally a day or more depending on the usage.

No Solid-State Buttons on iPhone 15 as Rumors Suggested!
Earlier, the news broke that Apple could use solid-state buttons on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max ditching physical power and volume keys. However, there are suggestions that the manufacturer is facing problems with the haptic buttons. So, the change could not be substantiated this year. It means all four devices will likely keep the physical keys.

Notch Ending With the iPhone 15?
Apple introduced the notch six years ago with the iPhone X and introduced the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. But this year, Apple could make a serious change. The US phone maker is expected to bring the Dynamic Island feature across the four models which will practically kill the debated notch. But it’s also not free of debate.
iPhone 15 Camera Features
So far, we haven’t got any major updates regarding iPhone 15 series camera changes or features. Leaks suggest that iPhone 15 the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus models will feature a dual rear camera setup while the Pro and the Pro Max variants will have a triple camera system. The iPhone 15 Pro could keep the 3X zoom for its third camera while the premium tier Pro Max could have the longer-range zoom capacity with the 6X zoom periscope lens powered by a 12 MP sensor. The basic design profile on the upcoming iPhone 15 could stay the same but if we get more info, we will update it here.
There are rumors that the two base models will get the 48 MP camera sensor used in the iPhone 14 Pro models which could be a major upgrade for the base model. The 2X lossless zoom could be coming to the iPhone 15 models offering better zoom and portraits. The current iPhone 14 has 1X wide portraits but the 2X portrait mode will delight the buyers. Users though will also expect a 4K 120fps slow motion capacity, and better low-light photo and video capture.
The rumored periscope zoom lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is making a buzz. Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the 6X periscope zoom lens could arrive for the high-end model. In the meantime, all iPhone 15 models could get the 12 MP selfie shooter with f/1.9 auto-focus on the front.
Fast charger finally coming on iPhones?
Popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the company could finally bring fast charging tech to iPhone 15. It’s an area where Android has taken far strides but iOS devices are yet to make a mark. However, this time around, buyers could get the crucial fast chargers on their lavish iPhones.
However, there is a catch. As rumors suggest, iPhone’s fast chargers will come with MFi-certified chargers only. So if you don’t have a certified USB-C charger, you won’t have the benefit of it. Apple for its own part, won’t be providing the charger necessary for a fast-charging solution citing ecological factors. And again, we can’t expect the company to bring a 50-100 watt charger yet but there could be the beginning in a moderate capacity.
To back this moderate spec further, 9to5mac now says that the next-generation iPhone 15 lineups could support 35W fast charging technology. The fact that Apple has launched a 35W dual USB-C charger also complements this rumor. And if it turns true, the charger will be able to juice up the iPhone 15 phones at its full capacity.
Apple also has a 30W USB-C charger for MacBook Air but can also charge iPhones and iPads. There are other reports that the next iPhone lineups could also support Thunderbolt via the USB-C port.
Redesigned Control Center
The control center on the iPhone is almost a decade old in its design. The iOS 17 could bring some changes to it. Dynamic Island could get new features as well. There are also rumors that the iPhone 15 series will get “Active Interactive Widgets”. There could be enhancements on the Always-on screen, focus mode, etc.
iPhone 15 Storage Rumors
All the iPhone 15 models are expected to feature 128 GB of storage. And the storage options could be largely similar this year too. The iPhone 15/Plus variants would have 128/256/512 GB storage options. Likewise, the iPhone 15 Pro/ Pro Max could get 128/256/512/1 TB internal storage options.
Expected iPhone 15 price
It’s too early to make predictions on the expected price for the iPhone 15 models. However, reports are coming in from various sources.
Industry analyst Jeff Pu has said that Apple will increase the price of the two Pro model devices for the upcoming series. It is possible that the price of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could go up by $100. But the cost of the base model iPhone 15 is expected to remain unchanged from last year at least in the US market. Below is the list of iPhone 15 expected prices for different storage variants in the US currency.
Based on the rumors, the iPhone 15 could cost $799 for 128 GB, $899 for 256 GB, and $999 for 512 GB. Similarly, the iPhone 15 Plus could be priced at $899 for 128 GB, $999 for 256 GB, and $1099 for 512 GB model.
As mentioned earlier, the Pro models could see a price increase by a significant $100. That is the iPhone 15 Pro could cost $1099 for 128 GB, $1199 for 256 GB, $1399 for 512 GB, and $1599 for the 1TB storage variant.
The premium iPhone 15 Pro Max price could start at $1199 for the 128 GB variant. Likewise, it could cost $1299 for 256 GB, $1499 for 512 GB, and $1699 for the 1 TB storage model. Apple is also rumored to push the storage to higher volume. As per Weibo, Apple will launch the iPhone 15 Pro Max with a 2 TB option and its price could go as high as $2,099 as per BGR. Last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models were also rumored to come with 2 GB storage which didn’t happen so if the upcoming model is substantiated, it will be Apple’s costliest device to date.
Phone 15 Launch Date
Apple has announced that it will launch the iPhone 15 series at its Wonderlust event on September 12. So, it’s another confirmation that the company is keeping with its tradition of unveiling next-generation iPhones in the first half of September. Reports have already suggested that the company has started the iPhone 15 production in India at a plant in Tamil Nadu.
Remember again that all iPhone 15 devices might come with a USB Type-C cable and Dynamic Island for the first time in its illustrious history.
That’s all we are covering for now. We will continue to update the page with more rumors and information whenever we have a new update.
