Why the name “Nord”?
Carl Pei, Co-founder of OnePlus had revealed the reason behind the name in his tweet. Basically, he clearly said that the name ‘Nord’ has been inspired by the concept of True north. Now people will think, what the heck is True north now, True north is nothing but a guiding principle.
It also refers to the ideal path in which someone or something should behead. What this means to the company is that it still thinks about its motto “Never Settle” and the main purpose of the company which is to offer premium quality in affordable devices.

The phone features the same premium build and finishes as the OnePlus 8 Pro. The frame of the phone is all metal built has featured protection from Corning Gorilla Glass on both rear and front sides. The display also features an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The power button is placed at the right edge whereas the volume rockers at the left edge. Just above the power button is the Alert slider which allows users to switch between silent, vibrate, and loud modes. The quad-camera setup of the phone is fitted inside a thin rectangular module placed at the top left of the device. Type-C port, speaker grill, and Dual SIM tray are placed at the bottom edge. Sadly there’s no 3.5mm traditional headphone jack.
The Quad camera setup consists of a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor (Similar to Mi Note 10) with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP Depth field sensor, and another 2MP Macro sensor. Supporting them is a single LED flash. This Quad camera setup also has EIS and Optical Image Stabilization or OIS to say. This setup can record 4K videos at 30fps.
The front camera housed at the pill-shaped punch hole is going to be a 32MP main sensor paired with 8MP ultra-wide sensor.

Other Specification
The phone rocks Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset (same as Redmi K30 5G) which is an optimized version of 765 chipsets to deliver higher-rated performance while gaming and doing graphics work so yes, the performance is going to be really good in this one. Octa-core processor is combined with this chipset.
As for RAM, there’s 6GB RAM, 8GB RAM, and 12GB RAM variant to choose from. The device also offers 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage. The variants are 6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB and 256GB/12GB. It runs on Android 10 overlaid by Oxygen OS 10.5.
For the 4G connectivity, the phone supports 4X4 MIMO with better data speed up to 1.2 Gbps (DL UE Cat18). Regarding the 4G bands, the phone integrates band 20 spectrum that is there with Nepal Telecom 4G network.
The phone also supports 5G connectivity in bands like 1, 3, 7, 28, 7 for the European version while for India, it supports band 78. The presence of 5G may not be interesting here as we do not have a 5G network in Nepal at the moment.
Backing up the device is a 4,115mAh battery with support to 30W Warp charging. You can charge Nord from 0% to 70% in just 3 mins. Wireless charging is not available but NFC is.
