Overview: POCO X6 Pro vs POCO X6
POCO X6 Pro comes with some distinct upgrades. It features a 6.7-inch 120 Hz AMOLED panel with 1.5k resolution we saw on the Redmi Note Pro Plus. For photography, the model gets a triple camera module with a 64 MP main sensor. For battery, it has a 5,000mAh unit that comes with a 67W fast charger, the same as we had with the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. It’s also one of the first devices to come with Android 14-based HyperOS, Xiaomi’s MIUI replacer. An IP54 rating gives it protection from dust and minor scratches.
On the other hand, the standard model POCO X6 also shares a similar resemblance from design to display. The model also sports a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with the same 1.5K resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. In the optics, the base model comes with the same 64 MP main camera in a tri-camera configuration. The battery though is slightly bigger with a 5,100mAh powering it with a similar 67W wired charging support. There’s also an IP54 rating that saves the device from dust and scratches. Just like the Pro model, it also comes with HyperOS out of the box.
Design-wise, it’s not hard to imagine that both the models strike similarities, but the internals are slightly different. Both POCO X6 Pro and X6 are launched in India and will soon make their way to the Nepali market. Below, we have more details about their specs, performance, camera, and other setups.
POCO X6 Pro and POCO X6 Design and Display

POCO X6 Pro and POCO X6 processor, chipset
POCO X6 Pro is powered by a 4nm chipset from Qualcomm- Snapdragon 7s Gen2, an upper mid-range SoC, which also powers the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G phone. The SoC rocks an octa-core processing setup with 4 cores clocking at 2.4 GHz for gaming and multitasking operations and the other cores keeping the device functional with up to 1.95 GHz. The chipset is mated to an Adreno 710 GPU to handle all work graphics. The mid-range chipset does all the assignments you will push through it.
The POCO X6 is backed by an equally powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset which is also a 4nm build from TSMC. The processor is based on [1+3+4] configuration with 1x Cortex-A715 core clocking to its maximum of up to 3.35GHz, 3x Cortex-A715 cores speeding up till 3.2GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores handling regular operations at 2.2GHz. It’s paired with a Mali-G615 MP6. The brilliant processor optimization delivers a balance of punchy performance and battery-friendly operations. MediaTek says that the Dimensity 8300 delivers 20% faster CPU performance and 60% greater GPU performance than its predecessor.
On both of these devices, there is not much to wish for more. Both the chipsets are new generation ones and offer bigger improvements from their previous hardware. Whether for gaming, multitasking, or graphics-heavy apps, things should be a breeze.
POCO X6 Pro and X6 Cameras
POCO has taken good care to please the legion who want a smartphone for its photographic potential. Both X6 Pro and X6, feature a main 64 MP OIS sensor which is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2 MP macro lens. The cameras can take decent images even in low-light conditions while regular photography will produce rich snaps. Likewise, the main camera lets you shoot 4k videos at 30/24fps (this might sound a little underwhelming) and 1080p videos at 30/60fps. The camera possesses 2x in-sensor lossless zoom, night mode, documents mode, portrait mode, AI camera, panorama, etc. for snaps while you can take the benefit of dual video, bokeh, time-lapse mode, etc.
The front camera on both models features a 16 MP sensor for taking photos, videos, and video calls. With this camera, you can shoot 1080p videos at 30/60fps.
POCO X6 Pro and X6 Battery
Both POCO X6 Pro and POCO X6 come with 67W wired Turbo Charge fast-charging capability. You may have wished a 120W fast charging as on the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G but that’s not happening this year and it’s still commendable enough. In battery capacity, there’s a slight difference. The POCO X6 Pro gets a 5,000mAh Li-ion polymer battery unit to POCO X6’s 5,100mAh one. The company claims that the 67W fast charging cable will take only 45 minutes and 44 minutes to charge the POCO X6 Pro and POCO X6 models respectively. With either of the devices, you can get plenty of juice for your phone and won’t need a battery backup for most normal days.
POCO X6 Pro and Poco X6 RAM and ROM
The POCO X6 series comes with upgraded RAM starting with 8 GB from the predecessor POCO X5’s 6 GB. It’s a good move as more of the smartphone makers in the upper-mid-range market follow suit. Meanwhile, the microSD card is being ditched on more devices these days. The storage has also got the bump with 256 GB being the starter. So here’s the deal. POCO X6 Pro comes with 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB RAM & ROM options. On the other hand, the POCO X6 models come in three RAM/ROM options- 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB.
The notable difference is the UFS 4.0 support on the X6 Pro to UFS 2.2 on the standard X6 model. Also, note that POCO has scraped the microSC card slot on these series to make room for the internals which is understandable with the current trend. But don’t let that frustrate you at all. The starting 256 GB internal storage already offers plenty of room to store photos, videos, and files in abundance.
POCO X6 PRO and POCO X6 Connectivity
Both the models- POCO X6 Pro and POCO X6 boast 5G connectivity while the global variant supports 4G network in band 20, that is here with Nepal Telecom. As per the Indian spec sheet, they are compatible with most of the popular 5G bands for both Non-standalone and Standalone architecture. In Nepal, 5G is not yet in the public. However, owning a 5G handset comes with advanced specs, and serves as a future proof. Both models also support 4G, 3G, and legacy networks. You can also enable VoLTE on either of these phones. For wireless communication, the POCO X6 Pro supports up to WiFi 6, and dual-band connectivity. Do read: 5G Network in Nepal | Latest Update
The base model POCO X6 can only connect to WiFi 5 standard with dual-band support intact. If you were wondering, there’s no support for WiFi 6E and WiFi 7 compatibility is a few years early to expect in mid-range handsets. But the cool thing is both phones support IR blaster which comes in handy to control lots of household appliances such as TV, AC, and other electronics. The device connects with USB Type-C and you can benefit from the USB OTG feature too. Bluetooth v5.2, A2DP, and low energy (LE) are also supported on both of these devices.
