Moto Edge X30 Goes Official With 144Hz Display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and More

Motorola has launched the new Moto Edge X30 in China. It is a flagship smartphone from the brand. Moto Edge X30 becomes the first phone to be equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Motorola has won this race to launch the first phone with this flagship SoC. The smartphone arrives with many other impressive specs and features such as an AMOLED display, a 144Hz refresh rate, 68W Fast charging support, etc. So, without further ado let’s know more about the specs, availability, and Moto Edge X30 price in Nepal below.

Moto Edge X30 Overview

Design and Display

Starting off with the design of the smartphone, Moto Edge X30 comes with a beautiful design. It has a glass front, and a glass back as well. The rear of the phone has an elongated pill-shaped rear camera bump. The handset measures 163.6 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs only 194 grams. There’s also a punch-hole cutout at the front that houses a selfie camera. It also features IP52 water and dust resistance. 

Moto Edge X30 flaunts a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display along with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080  pixels and support for a 144Hz refresh rate. It also has an aspect ratio of 20:9, 87.6% screen-to-body ratio, a 576 Hz touch sampling rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 10-bit color management, HDR10+ support, 405 PPi, 500 nits typical brightness, and 700 nits brightness (HBM). The smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass Protection. 

Cameras 

As for the optical features of the Moto Edge X30, the smartphone flaunts a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50 MP wide-angle primary camera, accompanied by a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle macro camera with a 117° Field of View (FoV) and a 2 MP depth sensor. 

While on the front the smartphone houses a 60 MP OmniVision sensor as a Selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture that snaps beautiful and gorgeous selfies. Without a doubt, the selfie camera is one of the highlighting parts of the smartphone. Now, talking about the videography aspect of the device, it can record videos up to up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, 720p@960fps, gyro-EIS at the rear, and on the front it is capable of recording videos up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/120fps. 

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

Talking about the performance of the device, i.e. the highlight of the Moto Edge X30. Under the hood, Moto Edge X30 is equipped with the powerful flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Moto Edge X30 is the first smartphone to be powered by the flagship chipset. It is a chipset based on Samsung’s 4nm processing that comes with a Cortex-X2 super core with a maximum clock frequency of up to 3.0GHz. As for graphics, the chipset uses an Adreno 730 GPU. In comparison to its predecessor, the SoC comes with 20 percent increased CPU performance, a 30 percent increase in GPU performance, and four times AI performance that of the Snapdragon 888 series.

It is attached with 8GB or up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage option. On the software front, the Moto Edge X30 runs on MYUI 3.0 based on the Android 12 operating system. 

Battery and Others

Fueling the Moto Edge X30 is a huge 5,000 mAh battery. The phone also comes with the support for 68W fast charging technology. The brand claims that the smartphone takes only 13 minutes to charge from 0 to 50 %. It charges via the Type-C port at the bottom. 

Talking about the connectivity options of the Moto Edge X30, it features 5G network, Dual SIM slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.2, A2DP, LE, GPS, dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, NFC, USB Type-C, dual-stereo speakers, etc. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for the security of the phone.

Moto Edge X30 Availability And Price In Nepal

Moto Edge X30 is launched at the starting price of 3199 yuan for the base variant 8GB/128GB, 3399 yuan for the 8/256GB variant, and at the price of 3599 yuan for the 12GB/256GB variant in China. The smartphone is available for pre-order in China from December 15. The smartphone comes in two color options  White, and Black. The Moto Edge X30 is expected to be priced around Rs. 65,999 in Nepal for the base variant if it launches here.
