Samsung has launched another budget-entry smartphone even in this worldwide pandemic situation which has halted many businesses and inflicted daily life of people. This budget-entry phone is non-other than Galaxy A01 which is the youngest sibling in the family of Samsung A series lineup which consists of Galaxy A51, Galaxy A41, and Galaxy A71.
The Galaxy A series is targeted to the budget-midrange segment market whilst keeping the design, performance, and power in mind. But there are not many exciting features in the Galaxy A01 but for the price, everything seems fair. Samsung Galaxy A01 price in Nepal is tagged at Rs. 13,499 for a 2GB/16GB variant.

Overall Overview
Samsung Galaxy A01’s design from the front seems as similar to its other Galaxies M series phones like Galaxy M21, Galaxy M31, and Galaxy M40 which all have a Water-drop notch in display and the bottom chin also feels kind of thick at first glance. The phone features a 5.7-inch HD+ PLS TFT display with a resolution of 720x1520p which also has glass protection to avoid the display from getting scratches.
To deliver performance, A01 is equipped with Snapdragon 439 chipset, octa-core CPU, Adreno 505 as GPU furthermore supported by 2GB RAM which all runs on the latest Android 10 OS on top of skinned with Samsung’s own One UI 2.0. For the price, this combination of hardware and software sounds really fair in my opinion though.
The phone rocks dual camera setup at the back; 13MP main sensor along with 2MP depth sensor both aligned vertically at the top right rear side of the phone which is also capable of shooting videos at 1080p@30fps. whereas there’s a company logo at the middle and a single firing speaker grill at the bottom right of the device. The power button is placed at the right edge, volume rockers at the left, 3.5mm headphone jack and Micro USB 2.0 port at the bottom edge.
As for storing data and files, the phone comes with 16GB or 32GB internal storage but unfortunately only 16GB variant is available here in Nepal. But you don’t need to worry about storage because of the phone rocks a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding storage. This phone is fueled by a 3000mAh battery with support to 10W charging which is good for its price.

Is A01 worth buying even when Redmi 8A is there?
Samsung A01 costs Rs. 13,499 for 2GB/16GB variant whereas Redmi 8A costs the same for 2GB/32GB variant in Nepal. Both of these devices share the same Snapdragon 439 chipset and Adreno 505 GPU. Even the Dual rear camera setup is the same, Samsung rocks 13MP main sensor along with 2MP depth sensor and Redmi 8A rocks 12MP main sensor along with 2MP depth sensor. But when it comes to battery and front camera, Redmi 8A wins it because it packs 5000mAh giant size battery with support to 18W fast charging whereas A01 just packs 3000mAh battery and for the front camera Redmi 8A features 8MP sensor whereas A01 features 5MP camera.
Now here’s the conclusion, Redmi 8A again wins when it comes to the internal storage of 32GB, so buying Redmi 8A seems more logical to me instead of A01.
