Bandana Sharma has been conferred with the Ncell Woman ICON ICT Award for 2024 at ICT Award 2024. She is recognized with the accolade for her contributions to the ICT field in Nepal. Here, we learn more about Sharma from her professional profile and her contributions to Nepal’s digital landscape.
Sharma was presented with the award jointly by the Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kadel, and Ncell’s Corporate Communications and CSR Head, Bishakha Laxmi Khadka. Besides the award, Sharma also received a cash price of Rs 300,000.
After receiving the award, the cheerful Sharma extended her gratitude. “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ncell Foundation for this recognition in the field of ICT. This award is not just an honor for my contributions; it is a tribute to every woman working to bring change through ICT and a beacon of hope for young individuals aspiring to join this field,” said the Woman Icon ICT Award 2024 winner.
Every year at the ICT Award, the award is conferred to a woman who has made astounding achievements in Nepal’s ICT industry. Ncell has collaborated with this category for the past 5 years to honor women who are working in the industry. The telco seeks to empower women in the industry through its cooperation.

More about Bandana Sharma
Bandana Sharma has 18 years of experience in the ICT industry as of 2024. Currently, she is serving as the Head of the Cards and Digital Banking Division at Nepal Bank. She started her career as an IT Support Officer at Nepal Bank in 2006. Over the years, she became an integral part of the bank’s digital transformation.
She also contributed to core banking systems, network security, cybersecurity, and the development of customer-friendly digital services and infrastructures.
In terms of educational qualifications, she has a BCA education from Pokhara University (PU). Besides, she has attained courses in IT, Networking, E-Business, and MBA. She is also an active member of the CAN Federation, Women in It, and the Uni Professional Management Committee. Further, she has contributed to financial inclusion and STEAM education initiatives.
